Garmin talk

I have noticed that in some areas the daytime colors of the map turn gray. I an not sure if this indicates something or not. I thought that it might be showing that it is an urban area as that is where this has happened in two different cities - but then in other areas of that same city it goes back to the usual day time colors. Anyone know?

I was looking at the Rush Limbaughh POI and went to the Ohio locations. I looked at three locations and two of them were wrong. The Cleveland station is shown in Gufport, Mississippi, and the Cincinnati location is shown in Fairbanks, Alaska. Makes me wonder how many other errors there are in the file.

I've only used the Garmin with the New Maps twice since the Map upgrade, and first time I didn't go past a Walmart/Sams... So I'm not certain why this is happening....

But I think something is new & different with the Latest Wallmart/Sams POI..
Every time I go near a Wallmart, I'm hearing Two Beeps, THEN we hear the Wallmart Audio saying I'm near it....

Not being very computer literate, among other shortcomings, I have been struggling for some time trying to save a POI to a folder.

First, I set up the folder as directed.

Second when I go to the POI that I want to download, I click on that.

That brings up a screen with GARMIN or TOMTOM(?)at the top of the screen.

I've uploaded a bunch of POIs via the POIloader using manual mode. I was a very happy camper until I went looking and noticed something odd.

No, not me! (well, ok, I'm a little odd...)

My 660 has held me in good stead except for the Bluetooth feature. Normally, the GPS and phone pair with no problem. However, occasionally when turned on the GPS doesn't pair up. Next turn on it does. At other times the Bluetooth disable and won't reenable, requiring deleting the bluetooth file and reinstalling. Any ideas?

Apparently the Garminfone is now gone from the T-Mobile website and the Amazon price has dropped to $319.99. That is how I got my Garmin Nuvifone G60. When it dropped to a slightly more reasonable price, I bought it on Amazon. Gee, wouldn't it be ironic if they also disabled the cell part and also resold it as a GPS. The G60 was re-marketed as a Garmin Nuvi 295W.

woe is me - i used a knockoff motorola charger instead of the Garmin car adapter because I was goin to jury duty and the battery in the unit was dying and the cord was in the other car. It looks like the phone charger fried my good ole friend the 750 when I plugged it into the USB port.

My nuvi 1350 will not alert me to POI's I have loaded in my unit. Anyone able to tell me why and what I need to do to correct it

Loaded the latest POI loader. Have never had problems loading my POI files contained in my POI Folder. Now, the loader pauses when it reaches 70% to 71% and that's all she wrote ! It says 40 secons remaining and 50 minutes later it's still there. I have a Garmin 1450 and with 8GB microSD card. Never have had problems loading before until trying the latest Loader.

While cleaning up my Nuvi 650 files, I noticed a XML.doc for Garmin device in the list. What is this file and what does it do? Should I delete it? Save it then delete it and see what happens? Any help will be appreciated.

I hear very well. I can compute distance, space and time in my head (well close enough). Why do I have to be warned twice of a pending turn? How do you cut down on all the stupid alerts, warnings. I do not have to be told twice, much less THREE or FOUR times about a coming event! The first time I used a street pilot I turned off the voice alerts. Tell me one time thats it.

I bought the 1490LMT for my brother... he really likes the convenience of the bluetooth, but he's having trouble with the volume adjustment... he says that if the volume is up over 80%, the navigating voice distorts... at the same time the bluetooth is not loud enough... I know my nuvi 295W has a balance control for navigation and music player...

Ok, well due to mother in law in hospital, we've done alot of interstate traveling to "the big city" (we live in rural area) and the wife has realized GPS isn't good enough, seeings how she hates it already because we have to pay for new maps. She happen to see one on tv and started looking on net and found out that there are ones that show what lane to be in and has to have one!

I have a nuvi 885T and recently started getting a "Route Calculation Error". Everytime I enter a location the unit starts the route calculation but always ends with the error. I have called Garmin and they walked me through a reset procedure, that did not fix the problem. All maps and firmware are up to date. Any ideas on how to fix the issue?

What is photo navigation and what is the benifit in using it? (Garmin 2360 LMT)

Seems my 765T is toast. Works through the car plug but doesn't show the battery meter. I think it did before? Plug it into the puter and all i get is Garmin logo and then white screen, back and forth for 5 minutes or so, then goes black. Disconnect the battery I get nothing. 2460

I have Garmin GPS devices and recently acquired an Audi with a built in Nav system. Does anyone know of a method to import my existing waypoints into their system? The dealer was not aware of any and the manual did not discuss this topic. The system does have an available hard drive with 40 gb memory so storage is not a problem.

This subject has probably been beat to death... I will apologize upfront if it has... I just purchased the nuvi 1390t about a week ago. I still have my 255w which is a great unit... in fact, I love all my nuvi's.
