Downloading to a Folder

Not being very computer literate, among other shortcomings, I have been struggling for some time trying to save a POI to a folder.

First, I set up the folder as directed.

Second when I go to the POI that I want to download, I click on that.

That brings up a screen with GARMIN or TOMTOM(?)at the top of the screen.

When I click on GARMIN, it goes directly to the save function. There is no space to allow me to direct it to the folder I created. The file is saved. In this case, the Rest Areas are saved to an Excel file.

However, I don't know what to do from there to get it into the folder I created.

Could someone give me some simple directions to get the file to my folder?

Need more info.

You generally won't be able to directly save to the folder you created. It is most likely going to a download folder. Do you know where you are downloading to? Are you using IE or firefox? You could do a search for the file. Once you find it you would move it (copy and paste) to the folder you created.

Check out your other thread

POI Loader asks for what

POI Loader asks for what folder you are saving to when you tell it you are saving to the SD card. I do not think you have this option if saving to the internal Garmin memory.

If you are using Windows, try using a right click on the Garmin button. That should give you a pop-up set of selections, one of which should be a "Save Target as" choice. Left click that and it should allow you to find and select your folder for downloading.
