Latest POI Loader Question

Loaded the latest POI loader. Have never had problems loading my POI files contained in my POI Folder. Now, the loader pauses when it reaches 70% to 71% and that's all she wrote ! It says 40 secons remaining and 50 minutes later it's still there. I have a Garmin 1450 and with 8GB microSD card. Never have had problems loading before until trying the latest Loader. I've experimented and deleted some files out of my POI folder and it still stops at the 70% to 71% point and no further.

Any ideas from you folks would be much appreciated.

Or any idea where I can get a hold the Ver. 2.5.4, it was slower but at least it loaded everything I had in there without fault.

Thank you !

Worked fine for me

I just started using and I've had no problems.

Wish I could offer more help than that.

Had A Similar Experience

Mine said something like 2% & 10 minutes to go for 30 minutes - never finished using POI Loader 2.6.1.

You can find where to download 2.5.4, which I've gone back to, by searching for a post like POI Loader 2.6.1.

I've concluded there some problems with the POI files but I'd rather have all my POI's than get hung up & never having any.

Fred

THANK YOU BIG TIME !!!!!!!!

Thank you canuk.......I don't know what you drink but it's on me. Wife is from North Battleford, Saskatchewan.....so I remember some of the favorites. LOL Seriously. Thank you.

Thank You

Thank you Fred and David and Canuk..........for the answers! I've reloaded the previous version that Canuk gave me the link too and all is well. It loaded ALL OF THE POI files I have without a problem. So don't know what's the deal with the 2.6.1 version.......but it's something ! Thanks again !!!!

.

I had to have the loader remove the POI's the first time. After that, it worked as advertised.

Also

I also had the latest Loader version remove all the previous files (after I backed them up) and then did a Fresh install. NO Dice.........never got past 71%........

The files are the problem

I would look at the files and find the errors. I would then contact the maintainer of the file to get them corrected. If no one cleans up the files we will continue to have issues and nothing will get corrected.

BUT

What I don't understand though is....I experimented and deleted approximatley 75% of my POI files and it still stopped at 71%.............so...........that doesn't make math sense to me.

Funny math

I have never seen much sense in percent completed statements. They can hang there for minutes and then suddenly complete the remaining part in the blink of an eye once it starts moving again.

Perhaps there was no problems with the ones you deleted and the problem is with one or more of the remaining ones.

Also I wonder if there is a popup blocker on your computer that blocks an error message. Poi Loader may be waiting for a response to the message.

one of the remaining GPX

One of the remaining GPX files is at fault. This is a problem with loading GPX, it doesn't tell you which file or where in the file the error was encountered.

Use EPE, breakdown the file into an M-Col XLS and then reload the XLS and regenerate the GPX.
