Garmin talk

Was reading a thread recently about routing. Someone mentioned that there may be an add-on to put routing on a 255w.

Where would i find such a download and if so how reliable is it?

Does anyone else beside me have trouble with Jill's voice sounding like she has sore throat or something?

Not really sure how this happened or what’s causing it:
My 265 WT just got very slow and sluggish.
The text to speech works fine and is in sync with road position.
The map display is very slow reacting.
When I make a turn it takes almost 30 seconds for the map
to straighten and face in the driving direction.
I have excellent sat. reception.
Anybody have experienced this?

I loaded a bunch of music onto my 4G card... the first album is "Beatles Love", and it does not show up in any of the music menu options... is there a directory formatting issue with how I load my music...?

I have a NUVI 765T. Has anyone figured out a way to play an Alert Sound by itself or standalone, without simulating a route past the coordinates, or driving past the coordinates?

Hey guys .... so its been about a year since my initial update of my garmin from the website. Now my gps is telling me that i need to update the maps since it might be outdated.The update is about 100... now im stuck between a few options. 1 pay 100 and update my map or 2 use a method i saw on youtube which allows me to download the new software and update for a very low cost(wink wink).

I am having trouble with getting my garmin 3790t to add a route. The plus sign is no longer highlighted. Does anyone know how to make it become highligted so additional routes can be added. It's not a memory issue.

Got a question for the group. I love my Nuvi 780 & 350 and am relatively new to the whole POI thing. This issue is currently only on the 780, as that is the only GPS I've been working with.

I have two *.gpi files. But I have a problem with them...

I connected my Nuvi 1490T to "My Dashboard" tonight and it said that a software update was available. The site identified the unit OK but has been trying to establish communications with the Nuvi for 10 minutes now with no success. I tried Web updater and that said that my software is up-to-date. Anyone any ideas or should I try again tomorrow.

Just looking for justification in buying a new GPS was wanting to hear from users as to what new and cool feature would make the purchase of a new unit worth the $$$..or not!

My Nuvi 265WT has recently gone bonkers. It used to announce and show the POI's that I have uploaded via POI Loader. Now, it will neither give the alert or show the icon. This seemed to happen when I upgraded to POI Loader 260, but I wouldn't swear to that. I went back to the older version of POI Loader with no luck. So, I reinstalled 260. I have tried a hard reset with no luck.

Help Please. I use and love GeePeeEx editor to create GPX files. Just purchased a Nuvi 1300, and NONE of my custom poi’s have the added line of information in either the custom poi list or in my recently found list.

is there anywhere that shows what updates or changes that are included in each map update the garmin puts out?

Thinking about getting one of these for my motorcycle. Anyone that has one would you recommend getting Navigation software on SD card to save the internal memory for other things like Topo ect... or just get Navigator DVD and load it on the units memory.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have visited Fort Myers Florida lately (1 Month) Every time i was on Us 41 (Tamiami Trail) i was told that there was traffic and the screen change to that dark Grey color that Garmin chose.For people who live in Fort Myers they already know that there is lots of traffic on 41. There is always lot's of traffic on 41.

Are the POIs that come installed on a Garmin integrated with the POIs that I download from POI Factory? Say that I am looking for the nearest McDonald's, will it look at both the downloaded POI file and the resident POI files and give me the closest of both files combined.

Couldnt find this in search, but thats no surprise. I was wanting to know if the red light cameras will work if you just have the "display map" activated in a nuvi 855 without actually having a route programmed or activated. I only use the gps on a trip but was wondering if I just started out and pushed the map, no particular destination, if the red light cameras would show up and warn.
