I have read on the web, that Garmin Mobile PC is discontinued. What a loss.

I am new to this but a friend told me to find sox.exe and download it to my POI files

One of the changes listed for POI Loader 2.6.0 is this:

"Added ability to handle swapped lat and lon values in CSV files".

On the Nuvi 295w, I haven't been able to see POIs on the maps until I am zoomed in to 200ft and 120ft. Is this the case for other 295 users? What about the other Garmins? Thanks

Cannot get Blueridge Parkway and Skyline Drive.gpx.htl to work on Garmin 3790LMT. I load it into my POIs with loader but nothing is there.

I tried opening the file (I am a Mac user) to look at it but it looks very different than my regular .cvs files.

What am I doing wrong??

We are planning on doing this trip in April and this would have been a godsend for us but??

I'm a new Garmin 1490LMT owner. My traffic icon tends to show up intermittently. Per Garmin support's suggestion I have used the web updater to download the most recent firmware and have double checked the cord position and connection. Immediately after doing all that, I get the icon fairly regularly for a couple days then it's back to intermittent.

I am trying to create POIs for Massage Envy but the Description section doesn't want to display as multi line on my zumo 660 though it looks perfect in EPE v4.88. I tried 4 col csv and gpx formats. I also tried POILoaders 2.5.4 and 2.6.0 with the same results.

I have Topo Canada V2 maps but they are in a PC format. I went to Garmin's website and downloaded Map Converter to run on the PC to convert the maps to a Mac format. However, it doesn't work. I keep getting an error message of unable to locate the file even though all the maps are loaded on the PC from the CD's.

I went to mapquest and mapped out a destination and sent it to my Garmin Nuvi1300LM and now I can't find it on my Nuvi. It is a GPX file and I have looked everywhere I can think of on my Nuvi and I have had no luck. Is there anyone that can help me? I would like to put it in my "Favorites" if that is possible. I just bought a garmin 1490LMT and 2gb SD card. I'm wondering if there's a way to download the entire POI database from this site and load it on to my new Garmin. I notice that there are many different files available and would prefer to download all in one sweep every few months instead of picking and choosing each file/category. Please let me know, thanks!

Does anyone have a suggestions for making the battery life of a Garmin GPS last longer?

We just bought a new Garmin GPS and I want to ensure that the battery is getting properly charged and not over charged. In the past we had a Garmin and within a few months the GPS battery life on a full charge was less than 20 minutes.

It has long been said that the version of sox.exe has to be 14.0.1 in order for PoiLoader to work when using wav files.

For the heck of it, I tried the latest Sox.exe version (14.3.1) to see if it would work with PoiLoader 2.6.0

It did work but the three .dll files that come with the latest version of sox.exe also have to be copied to the PoiLoader folder.

Is there a way to speed up traveling from one to to another when in simulation mode on a 1490LMT?

I am new to this site. I have a 250 that is two years old. After start up the menu screen comes up but then locks. While driving eventually the map of my location comes up but I am unable to enter any "where to"s". I went and updated the software at Garmin but that did not help. I tried resetting and nothing Any suggestions?

Recently OkMap freeware software (www.okmap.org) include a feature to generate automatically compatible Garmin custom maps (kmz format).
The map calibration is sophisticated because OkMap uses different type of projection and several datums.
This new feature includes map tiling from and to different image file formats (including from ECW map files).

My Nuvi 3790 switches between 3D and 2D view while I'm driving. The voice commands are turned off but it keeps doing constantly. The problem occurs with a destination or not.
Has anyone had problems with their Nuvi 3790 similar to mind, is there a fix? Do I need to send it back?

I'm not sure which forum this would belong in. My question is directed toward the new nuvi 295w owners. Is there anyway to import contacts for using gmail? Are you satisfied overall with the 295w? Thanks,

I have two 340c's (myself and my wife)... my brother has two 340c's (HVAC business)... my daughter has a 340c, and my son has a 330c...

all of our maps are probably circa 2008... I understand I cannot delete the map files that come with the units, and that I would need an SD card for new maps...

The battery in my 1250T now lasts 1/3 as long as that in my older 250. I wondered why. I came across this excerpt from a link to a very informative article. It talks about LiIon batteries in general:
