I wonder if anyone can help me?
I just bought the new Nüvi 3597 which seems very impressing so far. But the thing is that I drive around in a very noisy open sportscar and simply just want to turn up the volume of my new Garmin 3597 which max volume is far too low and unfortunately not equipped with an external speaker slot (God knows why..!!)

I noticed that as I'm driving on my 2597, there are icons that show gas, food, etc. On some of these, there are custom logos so I know what brand of gas, what restaurant, etc. is the one near me. Is there a way to get more logos and apply them to these POIs? Obviously an exhaustive logo pack would be too big, but even if I can get just a few for my favorite places to eat would be good!

I just still have this question.
I have Nuvi 200W with main board S4 with firmware 7.60 map version 2014.10.
I want to know if there is any hack for nuvi 200W to enable junction view, highway mode, lane guide and TTS functions, or even just TTS which speaks street names will be great. But if I install 205W firmware will I brick my nuvi?
Please let me know.

I just purchased a new nuvi 2555lmt. When I hook it up to my PC using the micro usb the PC sees it as a portable device but does not assign drive letters.
I can access the garmin drive as I could the C:/ drive.
But Mapsource or POI Loader won't find the drive because of no drive letter assigned.

How can I use my Nuvi 3597 while it is plugged in my PC?
It goes in data mode as soon as I plug it in and I didn't find a way to get it back to normal mode.
Device eject ( under Windows)doesn't work, I tried it.
There must be a way!

If I stand correct numaps North American and the other map update are the exact same thing? I just downloaded 2014.10 (older version)and now it prompts for me to download nuMaps...

I have the ecoroute hd that plugs into the cars odb II port. and i also d/l the free garmin app for it.

well, i got a check engine light. i looked at the app, and pressed the diagnostic code button, it says there is no code.

WTF?

went to autozone to borrow their odb II scanner to get the code. (it was an engine misfire.)

So I just purchased a nuvi 2597 and I am downloading the maps now. I have a 11 Mbps connection, and it says it's going to take an hour!!!???

How big are the maps now? The last unit I had (855T) didn't take nearly this long to update!

I have three Garmins, all old. I was using my 765t on a trip to Florida from South Carolina on Saturday and had the traffic work for the first time. We hit 2 bad spots on I-95. The first time the nuvi had no warning but we got off and re-routed. I am not sure it helped but at least we were moving.

I recently purchased the Dezel 760 for my Tractor. Currently, it shows all the stock icons or what Im assuming are POIs. Because I deliver to many of the same locations ie. HD, Lowes, etc., I wanted to have those icons display as the stock icons do. When I look up a store it only displays a green icon w/ a heart. How do I create new icons to go w/ my POI information.

My wife & I took an overnight trip to Flagstaff to visit old friends.

On the trip home to Tucson I napped while she drove. I inserted two points to the active routing, one on Loop 101 and the second on Loop 202 to insure that the unit routed us around downtown Phoenix. I made sure these points were well beyond the interchanges between the roads we were to use. to get us on to I-10.

I do not by any means wish to start a 20 page long thread about when the 2014.20 maps will be released, but for everyone's information, they have officially been posted on Garmin's servers as of 5 days ago. As we've seen in the past, this could mean that the maps will become available to us within 2 to 7 weeks. They are released when they are released.

Downloaded Wal-Mart/Sams CSV POI,[and other POIs] onto new Garmin 52LM. When a store is selected, there is no "GO" symbol to get the route to download. What is wrong?

I have been using simulation feature to test TourGuides for at least three years. My method has been
: Set simulation mode.
:Select Where To> extras>TourGuide file>location.
:Set location.
:The alert displays with sound.

Hi, I deleted the gmapprom.img file from my garm nuvi 660 to make more space for an update but now it wont go beyond loading maps. If not powered it dies right after loading maps comes on. If powered it keeps hanging in there at Loading maps. I had copied the files from the nuvi when it was still recognized as a drive on my mac.

Is there any way to have added POIs searchable under the regular POI selection from the first screen, rather than having to go thru the menus and going into "Custom POIs" ??

I'd like to get rid of the distinction between the default POIs that come with the Garmin Nuvi50LM and those that I've added.

Notes show that it's a minor bug fix. Unit updated ok.

I was using Google Navigation on my Android phone on Saturday, and stopped at a stoplight with a Home Depot on the corner. After a few seconds, a full-screen Home Depot ad popped up on the screen. And it did not automatically clear itself after the light turned green and I started moving again. I have never seen a popup ad before while using Google Navigation.

Hi, Hope this helps someone else. To update the Customer POI's on the headunit I had to use a USB drive and not the SD card. The SD card would think I was putting a MAP in and then turn off my Current Map. Using the USB drive was effortless - Create POI with the Garmin POI software. Turn on radio and wait for GPS to boot up - Put usb drive in and accept when the on screen question was shown.
