As of January 31, 2026, Philadelphia has experienced over a week of continuous below-freezing temperatures, with at least 8 to 9 consecutive days with temperatures staying below 32F since January 24, 2026. This has been one of the longest subfreezing stretches in the city since 1979 and it's not over yet.
That's not to mention the National Weather Service measured 9.1 inches of snow at the Philadelphia International Airport, the most recorded since January 2016.
