What is an XML Document?

While cleaning up my Nuvi 650 files, I noticed a XML.doc for Garmin device in the list. What is this file and what does it do? Should I delete it? Save it then delete it and see what happens? Any help will be appreciated.

Try this

XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language.
Some Xml's you can delete, they will get remade on next boot. Some need to be there. Copy the file some where, then delete it and see what happens.

I saved this file to a folder, then deleted it from the Garmin and when I sent POI files to the Garmin, it had trouble communicating. Sent the file back to the Garmin and everything is now working correctly. Soooo do not delete this file, you need it! Duhhhh

I scanned through the file one time. It holds configuration information for your GPS to operate. Input/output, file locations, etc. You need to keep it.

GarminDevice XML Document

You can safely delete the GarminDevice.xml file since it'll automatically regenerate on the next boot up.
