Garmin talk

I did my weekly speed/redlight camera POI update and also checked Garmin WebUpdater. There is an update v. 5.0 to the system software.

I can't seem to find a definate answer as to whether or not the numap lifetime will work with the 295w. Has anyone seen it in writing? I am considering making the purchace once I know for sure. Thanks.

HELP: Can I re-download a portion of the updated map. I normally use My Dashboard which downloads to my pc and the gps. Since I had to use My Map this time, just the map downloaded to the gps and not my pc. I know I didn't click on option. My mistake, Now I want to download map into my pc. Can it be done.

is there any way to extract or look at the sepret files from a GUPDATE.GCD......

Two quick obsetvations after downloading and installing 2011.4:

1. My address in Mapsource is still mislocated. My house number is 16. When I search for #16 in Mapsource, it shows a location several houses down the street. My house in Mapsource shows up as #44. Checking the Navteq site, its dead on, with the pionter on my back porch in satellite view.

Does anyone know when this update is coming? 2011.4 has been out for 24 hours now and is old news. This is the internet/information age where things happen more rapidly than ever. If Egypt and Tunisia can overthrow enitre governments in a few weeks, shouldn't we expect to get map updates at least that fast?

Before Garmin went to the "new" map install process several releases ago, I used to download the "whole" map update (2011.10 was the last one like this). Then I would connect my GPS to my 1st PC and run the install.

I have a 765T that had a 3D map file until I updated the map selecting "The 49 States" 2011.40.

Anyone else with this unit get a 3D file?

Screen is hard to view in sun light, is this a common problem with the 2300 models?

I just got off the phone with a Garmin representative who stated that the 2011.4 map update will be officially released tomorrow. Thought I would let everyone know.

Thought I read some where here in the forum, that we can update more then one of our Garmin's with one map purchase, is this true? and if so where was the post.

I recently purchased a used Nuvi 760 and it is now registered with Garmin in my name. I had to purchase lifetime maps for my StreetPilot c530, do I have to do this with this Nuvi or are the maps upgraded free?

I have a Garmin StreetPilot c530 and recently purchased a Nuvi 760. There were many "favorites" I had put into my c530 that weren't address but actual "Stopped-at" locations for better accuracy. Is there any way to read the coordinates on the c530 so i can transfer the info into my Nuvi?

It has, I suppose come to the point when both Garmin updates will no longer "fit" all of Europe and North America on the 370! I had a devil of a time getting out of the problem trying to. I finally contacted GARMIN regarding the above, and they said they are "working" on the problem. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how was the problem resolved, if it ever was?
