Garmin talk

I am travelling to western Canada in August for two weeks. We will fly from Toronto to Edmonton and then rent a vehicle and drive towards Vancouver. I am planning to visit Jasper, Banff, Kelowna brfore reaching Vancouver.
So what will be the best method to create my route in Nuvi 765? I wish to create routes with most scenic routes. I will appreciate your advice.

Frustrated and confused.

If I want to to save to the SD card on this Garmin 885 T, I must first create a folder on the SD Card?

What should it be called?

Currently H:/Poi and in here using garmin poi loader is a file .gpi.

Should it be H:/Garmin/Poi
I've also seen H:/My Poi

Im trying to update it on the comp. but all it keeps saying is searc hing for device.I never did this before & am not to great on the comp.If anyone knows anything about this plaesa reply LeonardkB

Me and some friends have been doing a whole knight rider theme on his old trans am for fun and we are looking for some sound files to add to our gps with K.i.t.t.s voice. We are looking for some different traffic responses for red light camera and photo enforced areas.

For both the 2010.40 and 2011.10 map updates I've noticed that the maps are about 10-50 yd out of whack.

Now before you go telling me to do a hard reset, I've already done that a few times and I even went into the diagnostic screens and ran all those tests too.

What I'm wondering is if anyone else with a 7x0 model is also experiencing this?

Do the POIs get updated each time you update a map on a Garmin unit? I have never done this before, but I am considering it. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Many of the Forest Roads around Flagstaff reopened yesterday after being closed for winter snow and spring mud, so I took the nuvi with the new 2011.10 map out for a trip to a distant hiking trailhead I had saved as a Favorite.

Hi there, how do i set warnings such as distance and sounds for custom POI's. TOM TOM was a lot easier.

I have a Nuvi 350 although I don't use it very much, I purchased it a couple of years ago figuring that Garmin would keep the option of uploading routes like my older Garmin V never dreaming that they would actually take options out of newer products.

Whereas I'm not comfortable enough with coexisting with the visual distraction a GPS would have on a motorcycle, (1993 Goldwing SE), I could consider it for audible directions, via helmet intercom system.... Goldwing's have integrated audio, that will mute the radio on voice...
Has anyone built an interface for integrating audio into a 1500 Goldwing Intercom, and wish to share the schematic?

i find my garmin mobile XT becoming slower with use. 1 year later and its half the speed it was and getting to the point where it takes 2-3 seconds to update the map after a turn. anyone know how to fix this other than reinstalling ?

NUVI 350 SENDS ME AROUND IN CIRCLES. It seems to be looking at my way points and adds them to the standard nuvi maps and sends me around in circles. It did it in three cities I was trying to bypass last month. I've bypassed these cities many times before and the nuvi worked fine. I have reset the nuvi and it didn't seem to help. Is it time for a new one?

I think I have deleted my mp3 file on my garin cant seem to download any music on it. It goes onto J drive but not into the mp3 player does anyone know how to fix this problem many thanks

Am I having a senior's moment or did something change with the latest Mapsource?

I thought I could previously create a route and then simply Drag & Drop on part the route to another point and it would automatically create a new route.

I've just got US Topo 2008 and tried to install it on my nuvi550. but the southern stats were missing. Does any one know what's wrong?

I have been working with a POI I am making for my vacation and now it won't open.
I am using Mapsource. The file starts to load and then mapsource stops working. I tried another file and it opened ok.

I tried Extra_POI Editor and the file won't open in it either.

The last time I was able to open the file I noticed the comment lines had hundreds of returns between each line. I was trying to delete these lines when it stopped working.

Does anyone know how I can save my file, or should I just start over.

Also, does anyone know why there are so many blank lines.

I've owned two GPS's since 1991, both Garmins. The first was an aviation one (191, I think) at $1100 and the nuvi 200 was $200. Both were/are great units. Now I've been looking into getting one with routing, but have been discouraged by reading about all the problems the newer ones are having.

Is there anyway to save all my POI's on my sd card instead of unit memory?

Suppose I have several places I need to visit. Is there a way to to have Garmin calculate the optimal route to take?

How to enter several destinations? Let's say I want to visit A, B and C, in that order. I first enter A, then I enter B. Now Garmin asks if B is the new destination or via point. Neither is what I want. I want to go to A first, then B, then C.
