Garmin talk

I have a Garmin Zumo XT and a 32 GB micro SD card installed in it for additional maps. The memory card has 10.7 GB free out of 29.7 GB. I have added several Open Map Chest maps and several BBBike maps.

I just download the latest map update from Garmin for this unit.
When I go to "Where to" for all the different categories, the results are businesses for specific area which is 100's of miles from the designated "Searching Area"

Is their a specific file which can be deleted and replaced with the file from my nuvi 2689?

Garmin does not support this unit anymore.

I'm looking for a csv to GPX program.

In the past I always used Extra POI Editor, but this no longer works on my computer.

I asked Copilot for suggestions and it came up with Trail Notes CSV → GPX Tool or Maparz CSV → GPX Converter

With the new map update just out, I see that both the Windows and Mac versions of Garmin Express are recently updated to 7.29.1, so I advise folks to update GE before performing the map update.

Garmin has the new map update for City Navigator North America available, version 2027.20.

I ordered a Garmin Tread Overland Edition a week ago. It was delivered a few days ago and I have had the opportunity to play with it a bit.

The reasons I selected this particular model are two fold:

One is that it has the RV/Camper Profile.

The other reason is it it Android based for sideloading apps.

Alright, so I got a new (to me) Drivesmart 61, it came with the GTM-36. Score! Except it has a bit of an issue. I have updated everything with Garmin Express, then checked on-device while plugged into the GTM-36 (just in case it would only look for updates for that while it was connected). Note that there is a 006B125700.GCD in .System/RemoteSW, so it SHOULD be able to update it if it wanted.

I have a couple of Nuvi 3597 Auto GPSs I am having problems with.
When I go to recently found and it lists an address, I select the explanation circle and then the three bars in the upper left to save it in "Saved", it askes for a name. I enter a name, hit "Done" but it won't save it. both my 3597s do the same thing. they are both up to date. Software 5.50. Has anyone else notoced this?

By any chance does anybody here on POI Factory happen to have a Garmin Overlander? They have been discontinued for four years, but if anybody happens to have one, I have a few questions about it.

If I install map updates to my Garmin unit first, will the Garmin Base Camp install quicker to the computer?

Is there a way to copy updated maps from the gps directly to base camp?

As posted in the subject line, I am just wondering if anybody here has installed any third party apps on their Garmin devices? After watching this YouTube video, I am considering trying this.

Does anyone have the DEM option turned on to display the "Digital Elevation Map" on their device?

Not sure exacty what it does or how turbing it on would affect the display.

Has anyone had any experience of POI databases for Europe, similar to the RLC and Speed Cameras ones on here.

I used Tomtom's android app on my recent trip to Ireland and I found I ended up with almost constant warnings of "Speed Control" zones but no warnings of actual cameras.

I mentioned low clearance solutions in a recent post. I ran across this on the Garmin website:

As old as it is, my 1450 will not power up. I have not used it in a long time. When I pluged it in, it showed the Garmin logo and then the green progress bar barely started then nothing. Blank.
Seems I had this problem before and I tried same fix as before. Plug into wall outlet for a long length of time. No help this go around.
Guess Ill stick with my phone apps for now.
Any ideas?
