Garmin talk

I've downloaded POI icons from POI Factory & transfered to nuvi 765T, but I can't find them on it.not with other POI icons any suggestions on how to get POI icons from web site to nuvi 765T icon tray

Looks like messed up Jill file on 765 while fixing it with speech_doctor. Now it speaks few names even funier. Is there any way to update these files? Unfortunately, I forgot backup file. Are 760 files same? If that is is the case then I have bakup. I will appreciate your help.

nuvi Lifetime Map subscription is not what it sound like. The subscription is tied to you current unit. Have it stolen and there goes you lifetime subscription. Sell the unit to upgrade to a newer Garmin and you have to buy a new Lifetime subscription. The same is true for FM Traffic.

I was wondering . Can i delete the other voices on my garmin to make more room on it

Has anyone tried this site? Maybe it's been discussed before. I've had a lot of fun generating POi's with descriptions, sound and a picture.

I submitted a WV attractions route. Now on my Garmin, I have a poi list that has descriptions of hours, rates, etc.

My Nuvi 760 stoped doing TTS Speech a few days ago, and I noticed at the main menu, there's a Red Lip Icon with a Grey X Through it. I tried changing the language, to American English, and tried both Jack and Jill, but it's still there, and no voice turn notifications.

Anyone know what might be up, and how to fix it?

When I access my Streetpilot c550 on my computer the curent.gpx file does not show up. I have copied it before but for some reason it is not now available. I have done a search on the removable disk (Garmin SP c550) to no avail. I do find the POI.GPI file in the GPX sub directory and have opened it (after conversion) and it isn't the Favorites file data.

I have many POI's on my Garmin 755T, but they are all under the heading of Custom POI's. You can only search for one of the POI's or all of them at once. Is there a way of placing groups together under common headings? When I'm looking for fuel, I want all the fuel stops but not the resturants and other POI's I have.

Probably been asked before but here goes.....How long should I expect my battery in my 750 to last. I don't mean run time but how long before it won't hold a charge again?

Any one know why Garmin 7x5s not listed in the Updates & Downloads section of the Garmin web site? How will we know if an update is available unless we use webupdater all the time? What about not having a high speed connection available all the time? You cannot just download the update file then update your unit at a later time.

Does anybody know if speed limits on roads have been expanded over the previous version? I am really impressed that my nuvi 750 displays speed limits on many roads and would be excited if this has been updated to include more. I've updated, but haven't had a chance to see if some more roads are included.

When I first bought my 660 the Traffic subsciption was $60 per year, now everything I read is $60 per 3 years, can anyone verify this, I can't seem to get an answer

My 765T crashed without warning. I entered a security code the night before and it worked the next day for approx. 18 miles and than the screen went blank and the unit could not be restarted. It was under warranty and a replacement is being obtained from Garmin. The unit was connected to satellites on 11/27/08. I am disappointed.

I've had my Garmin 350 for about 3-4 years now (i think). Friends and family made fun of me for having one. Others, make fun of me because they just think it's too difficult to use.

i charge my garmin through my laptop. How do i know if it is fully charged? All i see on the screen while it is charging is the garmin logo with a picture of the garmin hooked up to a computer.

Hi, there is a traffic junction which Garmin GPS will not allow me to make left turn. Instead it routes to another junction for U turn. Is it possible to make left turn possible in Mapsource? If yes, how?

I had a StreetPilot 2610 for a few years and was very happy with the customizing it allowed. When I was driving it told me; the time, my speed, the street I was driving on, the address I was passing etc.

I've loaded the POI file for Oregon rest stops and cannot seem to get the proximity alert to work correctly. I added "redlight" to the file name and used POI Loader in manual mode. The settings in manual mode are the same as for the redlight camera file I have except for the distance. I do not get an alert nor see an icon when I approach a rest stop.

I just discovered that the EXE file that one downloads for the map update is in 7zip format and can be opened, explored, and extracted with PeaZip.

Just thought you all might like to know.
