Nuvi 760 - $199 - Amazon's Deal of the Day

This is when it'd be nice for Amazon to have a price match guarantee of some sort. I paid $249 in November and know others paid a heap more than that earlier.

I bought an ASUS eee 901 note book in late December.
By mid-January the price dropped by $60. I asked (twice)for a price adjustment, or even a credit towards future purchases. The response was that this (a 30 day price gaurantee) is something they don't do anymore: they stopped last September. They also asked me to check back soon for future bargains in sales so great that they could not tell me what they would be.

This is one of the few times I regret buying at Amazon instead of a local store.

You paid $249.00 before Amazon knew it suffered from a bad case of Aphasia.

Wow great price. Prices are dropping like flies.

This is why I buy the bottom tier units, like the TomTom 125 for $80, because they probably won't drop in price as much as the more expensive units.

But this is a pretty sweet deal for someone looking for bluetooth / traffic and other advanced features!

Somewhat tempted but I have really no need for a more expensive unit, plus I prefer the 3.5" screen for more compactness when traveling.

So your saying, you want a price match on an item you bought 4 months ago? Your not one of those people that buy an item, then return it to Wal-Mart a year later, are ya? 30 days is all you should get. Not 4 months or more.

Amazon used to have 90 day price guarantee, but they stopped doing it late last year, and actually cancelled the Amazon accounts of a lot of customers who were over-using the policy. So now you just have to be really sure that you want to buy at the price that Amazon offers.

I paid $255 (thru Amazon) a few weeks. The 760 is a great device so I can't get too excited about "over-paying" for it.

The 760 represents the best bang for buck GPSr in my opinion. I have seen very little in the newer models from Garmin to change that view.
