Flakey audio on a Garmin 265WT

I recently purchased this unit. The first day I had it the voice prompts were fine. Yesterday the voice stopped anouncing. I re-connected the unit to a laptop and downloaded the most recent software. I'm used to a c340. I've used it for years. I am quite familiar how the GPS units work. The problem seems to be this unit (265WT) intermittant audio. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Anyone out thier have any experience with this unit?

Defective unit ... probably

It sounds like you may have a defective unit. But check with Garmin first if there are ny known issues.

I had the similar issue with the audio. I contacted Garmin and they said, just update with Webupdater. Even after that, I had the similar issue. I had gibberish sounds from 265WT. I figured, when I connect GPS to the Traffic Receiver, if the connection is not secured tight, it gives me gibberish sounds or flakey sounds. Now, everytime I connect the GPS to the Traffic Receiver, I make sure they are secured tight. I have not heard that gibberish sound since then... Hope this helps!

Best!

Happens to me once in a while

Yeah, most of the time the sounds fine for me, but once in a while I lose the sound. Then I'd have to reboot the 265WT.

I might have an idea

I set up the blutooth to link with my Samsung phone. It is NOT listed in the prefered phone list. I have de-activated the link and now my GPS does not seem to have the sluggish reaction and lack of TTS. I think the unit was bogged down when trying to link to my phone. I'll try it today and see if it works regularily.
P.S my traffic receiver only worked on the first day too. I'll see if it works again. The cigarette adapter is working as it is feeding power to the unit. Oh well I'll look into the isssue further.

So far so good. However the traffic monitoring feature does not seem to work. Any suggestions?
