2350lmt (questions about the 2xxx series)
Have recently purchased my first gps a nuvi 1350lmt. Well... soon after that, I realized how many different models & features there are out there and much fun gps'ing is! I have been doing a lot of reading on this site. ( and have much appreciated the insight & experience of the contributions here! )

POI's Along a Route
New guy here. I suppose this is like asking for the moon, but do ANY Garmin (or other brand) gps's allow you to search for POI's within xx miles of the road along an entire route?
Searching for campgrounds within 5 miles of the road along an entire route comes to mind. Streets and Trips has a similar function.

national_parks_plus poi
I just downloaded national_parks_plus (Last updated 09/12/2011) poi to my 755. However, when I view the poi's it only shows some of them. The majority of them are not showing up. It shows the farthest one as 180 miles from me. Does anyone have any idea as to what the issue might be? Thanks

Organizing Custom POI's
First off, I am a newbie here and I am sorry if this is already discussed somewhere else.
I downloaded some custom poi files today. Is there a way to create sub directories? Right now when I go to my extras there is only one directory. (Custom POI)

red light cameras/speed cameras dc/md/northern va
I am curious. Does anybody know how many of the above POIs are in the data base. I read there are only 467 speed cameras in total. I suspect there are that many alone in DC, MD, and Northern VA.

Nuvi 1450 -- Problem Getting Attached Sound Files for Redlight Cameras to Play
When I approach a Red Light Camera, my Nuvi 1450LMT makes a double chime and a little grey rectangle appears on the map with "RLC Camera Alert".

Getting Junction View Files
I have been tying to follow the Junction View thread. I am not too sure of the solution of getting the full files that can be installed on the micro SD Card for the 1490T. Did Garmin make the full file(s) available or was it made available only with new maps update? Is there a solution? I am in NJ and I do get a few JV and lane assist on route 287 and route 78.

New update available for 2X5W units to 7.50
Changes made from version 7.40 to 7.50:
Fixed an error that prevented a user from selecting Country or State/Province while searching for an address using third-party maps.
Fixed an error that prevented a user from using a map from an SD card.
Fixed an error that displayed No Matches Found over the city-search results.

red light cameras and speed cameras
I just downloaded poi for red light cameras and speed cameras onto my nuvi 780. I am interested in testing this out as i know of a red light camera that is nearby and i want to test this out. I guess all i have to do is drive with my nuvi on and i should receive an alert when i get close to the camera, assuming that this camera is included in list of sites. Am i correct

Nuvi 200w rebooting....
When I turn on the 200w it loads map and runs. If I plug in a 12v source, or interrrupt the power while it is on, it reverts back to the startup screen, shows the computer connection icon, and the green bar rolls across slowly which I assume it is rebooting. It does this anytime the 12v supply is interrupted. Is this normal. I don't seem to remember it happening before.

Garmin new 2012 models - internal memory size?
I am just wondering if anyone has purchased any of these new Garmin 2012 nuvi models.
Makes me wonder if Garmin had the sense to add more internal memory to these new models so that map upgrades will go more smoothly?

external FM traffic antenna
I just got 1350LMT dirt chip at $149 with free map updates and FM traffic for life. My wife's 260 was cracked in an accident and my 350 still works great, but does look a dinosaur.
Anyway I never had traffic before the free FM traffic works , but shows poor signal. The help on the GPS stated getting an external antenna may help. Do these really help?

Reattaching a loose serial sticker?
Hi everyone. I have kind of an off the wall question.
I replaced the battery myself in my 205 recently (it was easy). One corner of my sticker on the bottom now wont stay down. I think over time it will get worse. As I dont have any experience working with stickers and decals, does anyone have advice as to reattching it without screwing it up?

Garmin Lifetime Map Updater Setup (Mac)
I use a Mac, but hopefully my experience will be useful to PC users too.
Last July Garmin released an application to enable users with lifetime map subscriptions to check and /or automatically download new maps as soon as the are released for their Garmin GPS. This was welcome news as I have a 2350LMT and like to keep it up to date.
Nuvi 855T factory files
Does anyone know how to reload original files on a nuvi 855T ? I wanted to free up some space on this unit and deleted some needed files. I lost Speech Recognition. I'm up to date on the software (v4.70)
Any thoughts? Thanks
