I want one of these, any one have some comments on the new sereis that hits the shelfs in June?

A lot of you here know that I have been very happy with my Nuvi 660 since I got it a little over a year ago and joined the POI Factory. Until today, that is.

This is the first long road trip I've taken in quite some time. I drove from Tampa to the hotel room I'm sitting in now, in Manchester, TN. Tomorrow I continue on to Indiana, my destination.

I am still using Internet explorer7. I have not heard any bad news on the new Internet explorer8. Is it working good for those of you who installed it?

Just had my 660 lock up for no reason. I set a destination to my home from where I am now, but it wouldn't aquire the satilites. Took it outside, nothng on the screen or the power button would work. I even hooked it up to AC power nothng. Hit the reset button on the back and it shut of and is now working like always. Ii even plotted the route to the house from where we are at now.

Has anyone experiencing issues downloading maps or updates using Mozilla Firefox?

I know there must be a simple fix for this.

I been switching back to Internet Explorer to download which will work but would rather us Firefox.

I notice my zumo550 leaves a trace where I have been. Lots of little trails around home for example. Can you get ride of those to have a clean map ?

I just bought a Nuvi 360 and I've got it wired in the car (so audio would play through the car speakers and the unit runs off of the car battery). Today I picked up the last component I would need. It's a step down jack adaptor. To go from 3.5mm to the 2.5mm.

Someone mentioned to me that they had very poor GPS reception in Yosemite - My thoughts are that it may be due to older unit.
Anyone have any recent experience there with Garmin? Any poi files that one can recom. Going there from SF soon.

Does anybody know which satellite system they use? WAAS or EGNOS or both?

With the old C340 you could choose, with this one there is no choice.

Is there nay way to get rid of the topo(? or whatever it's called)map that takes place of a route when zoomed out? It's killing me because seeing the roads is so much more intuitive.

To me it's useless and want to even know why Garmin even put it there on a road navigation device.

It's been a while since I have been on here but see what is going on from time to time.

Anyway - I put the old C340 to bed and got a new nuvi 255w. For this unit to be a beginner unit wow it is loaded with some new features. I am pleased with it. I have been playing with it and finding and saving some of the manual favorites that I had in the old one.

I have a nuvi 680 but no longer have the traffic active. On returning from out of town, the GPS routed me around the city on the bypass interstate. I know from experience this is a longer route. So when I arrived at the exit for the bypass, I checked the remaining miles and the time for arrival. Then I took the intown interstate route instead.

I have a Garmin 880 and I've run POI Loader serveral times. None of the files are making it to my device. The loader is saying that they were uploaded.

Are there any geographic limits to Custom POIs?
I have been creating sets of POIs for my forthcoming trip to China and I don't seem to be able to upload any beyond 115 degrees east - effectively excluding Beijing and Shanghai.

For those that have the 2010 updated maps or lifetime, how well do the maps in your area match this website?

ok, here is what I am trying to do and if someone could lend a hand.... I am looking to ride my motorcycle from the DC area down Skyline Drive, which connects to the Blue Ridge Pkwy and take that to something that will get me back to FL. My problem is that I want to create the route on my computer, upload it to my Nuvi's SD card and kinda go from there.

I figured this out once but can't seem to remember how I did it now. when ever I load new POIs to my memory card it prompts if I want to manage new data. I keep my POIs on my card so I don't want to import them, but it prompts every time I start up. is there a way to get rid of this? TIA.
