This isn't a whine. It's just something I'm offering to people trying to decide whether to buy Garmin's nüMaps Onetime DVD or the company's nüMaps Lifetime product.

I have a question regarding the "Address Book" in the 765T. How are entries in it different from entries in favorites? How is it typically used? Is there a way to synchronize it with Outlook's address book?

hey guys, i was trying to upload speed/red warning files onto my unit. i clicked on the folder to get the files from the POILoader but i included the zip file itself aswell including the files i extracted. now does my unit also include the zipfile? or does it automatically assume i did a dumba** move and ignored it?

I have a Garmin Nuvi 250, When I select Destination Several Options appear, Direction, Favorites .. Among them its one called Points Of Interest (not to confuse with Extras > Custom Pois).
On that folder I found restorants, hotel, etc.

I have a Nuvi 855 having trouble adding and deleting POI's. I tried to add new POI's to the orginal POI's I had added a few days ago and the POI loader said they were added but they weren't on the GPS(the original ones were still there). Since then I have tried to delete the orginal POIs with the loader so I could start over.

I'm still learning the ins and outs of favorites and POIs. My understanding is that Favorites can show a symbol on the map regardless of how closely zoomed in you are and also only require an address; POIs, on the other hand, require lat/long, but won't show a symbol unless you are zoomed in quite close.

I have run into an strange problem with POI loader. I have downloaded an Excel file of Ohio Historical Markers. I have moved columns around to match what POI loader needs to see. Columns A and B are coordenates, column C lists the Marker # and name and column D is the town. The file was saved as a .CSV file.

can anybody tell me how i can install red light cams on my kenwood kna g510 for the us and canada..would also like instuctions on how to do it,have never attempted anything like this before so this is going to be my 1st time trying it..thanks everyone all will be appreciated..once again thanks everyone..

This is my third unit after breaking two within a month's time. After returnin two defetive unit, I received thir refurb unit. After initial two three un-sussessful attempts to pair my Nokia N95, it started pairing normally now. Now it is flawless. I wonder if it was hardware issue since there is no firmware update to relect any changes.

Here is my last article before I go on a two week cruise vacation to the Caribbean.

Hello! This will be my first post to this forum, and hopefully you all can offer some insight.

I recently purchased the City navigator North America NT download version from the Garmin website. I did this because that way I could get more timely updates then I had been getting with an older version.

On my 760 I have the North America base and TOPO maps loaded. I use the TOPO map for off-roading. How can I load POIs to that map. When I switch to the TOPO map I have zero POIs but when I enable both maps I don't get the topo info. Am I doing something wrong (most likely) or is there a way to separate which POIs are connected to which map?

I have a feeling this is going to be a work up but here goes. I pick a remote spot on Google Earth and save the location as a place mark. I covert this file from KML to CSV. Then use POI Loader to put into Mapsource. But that's were it goes missing. From what I'm reading this can't be done. Basically transferring a Google Earth place mark to Mapsource. Any help appreciated

I don't think this has been mentioned here yet. The firmware for most eTrexes has been updated as of May 12.

Changes from version 2.80 to version 3.00:

-Correct time scale of altimeter chart (Vista only).

-Add support for maps greater than 2 GB.

-Modify track log function for steady barometer output at power on ( Vista only ).

I'm trying to load custom POIs (with custom icons) into my Garmin 855. I've tried through POI Loader and MapSource. I'm having no luck. what am i missing?!

Note: i tried Walmarts first... and i do see them, but the others i've downloaded (ie: McDonalds) are not there.

I've tried erasing all and starting over... still only walmart. and none with the custom icons.

My nuvi has a lot of trouble finding satellites any ideas?
