Is there nay way to get rid of the topo(? or whatever it's called)map that takes place of a route when zoomed out? It's killing me because seeing the roads is so much more intuitive.
To me it's useless and want to even know why Garmin even put it there on a road navigation device.
Although the 755 did improve from my 760, it's slower. Garmin said the maps are more rich and overtake the CPU speed increase.

Actually its not a bad idea trying to represent the shape of the terrain so you can see the configuration of the land. You are referring to the digital Terrain Model feature.I wish I had it on my 260W.
A raised-relief map or terrain model is a three-dimensional representation, usually of terrain. When representing terrain, the elevation dimension is usually exaggerated by a factor between five and ten; this facilitates the visual recognition of terrain features.

I'm just trying to get from
I'm just trying to get from A to B in an area(Baltimore/DC) that has many choice(routes) that this thing blocks from my view. From my point of view it's distracting and I would just love to get rid of it or the nuvi.
I think Garmin is just showing off some maps and screwed up by putting/forcing one of them on me.
