How do I create web links as part of my Garmin GPX files?

I recenlty purchased the 2011 Map update; tried to download at least 7 times; keep getting message that Garmin server quit and contact customer service, which I did.

I was toying with the idea of getting a nuvi 780, to add to the 660 which we own. I had bought the 780 for my parents for I think $189 at Christmas, and was thinking I'll get one when it drops to $150. Well, it touched $169, and is $205 today!!!

After a good bit of research, it seems the original, beanbag style friction base (Garmin P/N 010-10908-02 https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=63953) remains the favorite, but this thread is intended to focus on the newer model with the pliable base (Garmin P/N 010-11280-02 https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=69365).

I will not go into details here to what happen. But, when I take the battery out of my gps 855 and put the battery back in, I get this msg. "The Software (version 460) is older than your current software. Would you like to continue installing (this will clear all user data)" At the bottom of the screen INSTALL..DON'T INSTALL. I press DON'T INSTALL, How do I detete this statement.

How do you put text below the original text. I can't seem to do it. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm new to all this so please excuse my question if it seems dumb. My Garmin 1450 has schools already in the maps. Is there any way I can edit them into school zone alerts? Preferably all at once.

I can't make the Lowclearance software work with my 7200. Is anyone using it with a 7200 that can tell me what to do?

Over the past few weeks, the touch screen on my Nuvi 255 stops responding. I notice this happening when the device was warmer such as being mounted on the windscreen and plugged in. Now it does it almost all of the time. I tried reloading the firmware, a hard reset, but that has not worked.

Our Nuvi 5000 crapped out on us today. We are on a road trip from Florida to Alaska and somewhere in Missouri the map display went away and the word "drawing" appeared at the top of where the map should have been. Called Garmin and the associate spent quite a bit of time helping me out. Turns out there was a corrupt file that was causing it all.

If you have just bought a new Garmin GPS unit, you can be of help to us by answering some questions about the unit, its internal memory and some files. To reciprocate, we can do something for you.

You have probably already registered your GPS so you know how to hook the unit up to your PC. Why don’t you get your unit and USB cable so we can get started.

What is the easiest way to modify the route on a Nuvi 260? For example, it sometimes routes its trips along busy highways when I would prefer to take the turnpike. By the way, I'm pretty sure that the Toll Roads selection in the Avoidances menu was unchecked.

I'm new to this...I have downloaded Garmin's POI downloader, which appears to run OK, except when it starts to try to find files that I know exist on my computer...it simply doesn't recognise downloads I have done from this site. Any tips?

Sooner or later your GPS whether it is a Garmin or other brand will be discontinued and you may get the itch for the new features in the new models.

In updating my maps and software, I was greeted with a notice that my Garmin 650 was now a discontinued product. So out of curiosity, I sent Garmin an email asking two questions.

1. Can I buy a new unit at a discount?

I think Garmin has so many issues with the new and old units that they are overwhelmed and may never fix many of them. They keep giving the same answers over and over that the problem is a known issue and they will send out a fix but no idea when. It is difficult to blame the customer service people because they have a list of things to try to solve problems.

Update, we talked to another truck driver who swears by his 765t...however he also has a 465t and he does not like it for the fact that it pulls u-turns at every stop, via point, and destination. Unless manually going into the unit while driving (very unsafe)--it will recalculate every stop back to the stop eventhough you are sitting in the actual parking lot!

I just upgraded to the 755t and every once in awhile the GPS tells me to take an exit off the freeway only to tell me to get back on the same freeway a short time later my 350 never did that does anybody know whats going on with my GPS 755t
