Garmin talk

I'm sure it's something easy but I can't get the loader to run in 7. I click on the icon, go through the steps and last step is click the box and hit done. I do that and the screen will disapeer after about 5 seconds. I have uninstalled and re-installed loader. I'm sure something is stopping it from running but at a loss as to what to do.
Any ideas?

My Garmin 1300 takes me on a round about trip to my destination. Is there any way I can program my way to the destination? I have tried fastest & shortest distance but both take me through back roads (all paved).

When I use hands Free calling my party cannot hear me. I can hear the phone ring on the other end and hear them answer. They cannot hear me and hang up.

keeping the H-D dealer POI updated. We're headed on a three week cross country trip and having the latest dealer information really helps.

I have been successful in downloading POI files using a micro SD card into a DNX5160 unit which includes a Garmin nav system, and several other audio and video devices. My problem is that the POI audible alert output is in the form of a chime rather than a verbal alert although the input MP3 files are all verbal alerts. Is there a way to set up the alert output in verbal form?

I have a GPSMAP 60 CSx and Mapsource installed on a desktop and a laptop. I'd like to update my maps with a download but it looks like it will only update the GPS and one computer. Is there a way to update the maps on the other computer? Thanks. This looks like a great site.

hi. i just have a question. But first, i would like to thank those you helped me creat a POI file with sound and icons. But the thing is that when i aproach a POI, my nuvi 680 will alert me using the voice and also show the icon on the screen. But if in case i'm listening to music on my nuvi.

I have map source on my PC but I don't have any detail. The unlock codes are there,but it says map source is not installed,any help? Thank you.

I am trying to download POIS for red cameras from speed camerapoi but when I download the file I cannot open it or save in the file format!!!Please help me!!!!

Has anyone tried to DIY a silver coating on 765T or other Garmin devices? I have a feeling that the rubberized black coating of 765T absorbs a lot of sunlight under the windshield and the unit can get very hot easily. If the exterior of 765T were silver it should be better on this.

I installed this update but haven't actively used the program. Changes are:

Improved handling of invalid gpx files from devices.

Improved handling of missing components, MapSource will now display a message indicating the missing component.

Changed number of most recently used files from 4 to 10.

Fixed some untranslated strings.

I have a 2009 Zagat file from my Delphi Nav 300 that just died and I have replaced with the Garmin 1350T. Anybody know if and how I can load the Zagat on the Garmin and access it easy?? Thanks JQC

I have been following with interest the latest fragments of information about the forthcoming new Nuvi 3790 (part of the 3700 series), partly out of curiosity for what new features it might contain, but also due to my perverse wondering of whether Garmin will simply continue to produce another new, inadequate product.

Hi. I have a Nuvi 1490T. I've done a lot of searching for information on what you can do with POIs, and it would seem that what I want to do cannot be done. If anyone has thoughts on this I would love to hear them.

I had checked previous post to try and prevent starting a new post that had already been addressed. If per chance I missed it, I apologize beforehand for doing so. This just happened to me and I hope I can give you a heads up in time so this doesn't happen to any of you.

Since I'm dying to exploit my nuvi 500, I have been trying for days to get audio to work on it instead of the useless "bings" when approaching notification points. I have done my research, albeit the posts were close to 2 years old when written. They did state though that sox v14.0.1 worked and that sox v14.2.0 did not.

While waiting for my 1490T to arrive I'm reading the user manual. The Bluetooth section has me wondering...

If I wanted to upload a Track Log file from a Garmin Aera 500 or Zumo 660 and then edit the file how can it be done?

Can the Track Log file be viewed in a text editor, edited and then reloaded into the Garmin?

Will the Garmin device detect that the file has been edited and reject it?

My 1490T should be here in a few days and I've been thinking about a protective case.

Two years ago there was a thread about cases for the 2x5 series and someone here suggested a case at Radio Shack that fit perfectly even though it was designed for another piece of electronics. I went to a local store and picked one up on clearance for $5.

For those interested Costco has dropped the price on the Nuvi 1490T in their stores to $229.95. Seems like a pretty good deal. With their excellent return policy I don't think you can go wrong. Not available online....
