Learn route

My Garmin 1300 takes me on a round about trip to my destination. Is there any way I can program my way to the destination? I have tried fastest & shortest distance but both take me through back roads (all paved).

Go your own way

I don't know about the features of the 1300, so I don't know what options you have.

Is it possible you've told it to avoid highways? Look at your avoidance settings.

You could simply go the way you want to go and let it recalculate, or you could set waypoints or via points to force it a particular way. Again, I don't know if you can do that on the 1300.

Also, it is possible that the way it is taking you is best overall. It just may not seem that way to you. I've seen that before (not with a 1300).

routes.

As aimless said, you can use via points to force a specific route. However, the 13xx series does not have the capability to save and recall (reuse) Custom Routes. You would need to upgrade to the 14xx series to get this feature.

Route import

Cyberian75, the OP was asking about the nuvi 1300. You can import favorites but not routes on the 13xx series.

My 255 forces me to use a congested highway near my house. Would be nice if I can avoid it. These days I turn it off whenever it starts to do that.
