Garmin talk

I had a 760 until one night some idiot broke my trucks window and ripped it out of the dash. The 760 was connected to my Alpine stereo's rear propriety ai-net connection with a AI-net to 3.5mm cable ($12.00 on ebay).

This cable was ran behind the dash and would let me play MP3's from the nuvi through the stereo. Worked great.

Has anyone got this error ERR_DATA_ABORT within their Nuvi inside the GarminError.xml file?

It is occuring in my Nuvi 1350T using the latest software version 3.90. The unit seems to functioning fine. I saw this error ERR_DATA_ABORT 3 times already within that GarminError.xml file.

Looking at this discussion, http://www.poi-factory.com/node/27390, it looks like the 2010.40 maps were released on or around 01/21/2010.

I need your advice. My Nuvi 750 doesn't get power when connected to the cigarette lighter anymore. The fuse in the AC adapter seems intact. I wonder if the adapter/mount went bad, or if the the issue could be with the unit itself.

Before I spend any money on a new adapter/mount, has any one had a similar issue and could share how they handled it? Thank you,

While playing around with my SP 2720 I discovered a few potentially useful functions that can be initiated during startup. I'm not aware that anything like this has been previously posted here or elsewhere.

1) Powering up while holding the "Find" key:

Can you load Red Light Cameras & Rest Stops in the same folder with 2 different Wav files one for each. I guess I mean one for rest areas & one for Red light Cameras so when I get to a rest area that wav file will play & when I get to a red light camara that wav file will play

I've been working for several days trying to get my POI's loaded and in a usable state on my Garmin 265w. By way of this website, I finally feel like I'm making some great progress. But I'm still in need of assistance.

HUDGE PROBLEM -I deleted all file on my garmin 650, I have stored all file on pc - how to force start gps to load file from sd card ?

I'm looking for dead Nuvi 260 or even better need someone to tell me what the SMD component next to the USB connector on the right side is? Most likely it's a capacitor (size: 0816?) and not resistor (but I might be wrong).

and for the last few weeks , I/ve been getting notice about my Navteq traffic subscription is about to expire..

I'm at a loss..I have a765t..got the POI loader..I've downloaded files into a separate file on my desktop..downloaded them onto my gps (said successful)found them where they should be..good..then I downloaded some more..however..the ones I previously downloaded are not in there,just the new ones..I've done this several times, with the same results..am I doing something wrong?

Hey just a random question. I have a nuvi 255wt and i know i can add certain voice files at different times on the device in .Wav format. My question is can i have the device greet me when i turn it on? Kinda like making a file that says "Hey Kevin, ready to go" When the garmin turns on it beeps and i know the tom toms are able to have voice turn ons. Anyone know where i would place this file?

I am ready to update my current NA map. What files do I need to back up so that I keep my current version available should I have problems??

I got a mount from Gilson that is made from the same material as the disk that it ships with it was a little bigger and square.
My Buick Park ave ashtray flips down real nice I kept looking at it when I opened it and thought gee I wish I could put the nuvi there.

Where do I get a free download map for my nuvi 205 for costa rica

I downloaded thw Walmart files, downloaded the POI Installer, intsalled the Walmart files to my wifes Garmin GPS, POI installer said "successful" but I cant find the Walmart POI. My wifes GPS is older, its an Street Pilot c330, is that why?? Thanks.

I just bought a Garmin 765t, can't get sounds in mp3 format. I have dowloaded several POI files from POI Factory,put POI files and sound file in same folder.When I run POI Loader from Garmin in manual all I get is alerts and no sounds. Can someone help? Thank you ,
