So, I was in need of some driving time today to clear my head, and decided to go on a little 300 mile drive.

I'm happy to report the new FW update did not create any routing quirks at all. In the various cities I went through, I did make some stops to check out routing functions. Various stores and restaurants, and of course caffeine!

I want to send a point on E-470 in Denver to my 660 that is on the East ramp to I-76 at the north end of the road. I have tried three times to get the point sent and when I check back in the favorites it's always at the airport entrance at Pena Rd. I physically put the little guy in the right place and do the send but it sends the wrong location.

I'm new here and have a question about POI's and what I can expect from the POI files that I have downloaded and installed.

For example, if I install the McDonalds USA file, when I take a trip from PA to NY next week and want to be alerted to any McDonalds restaurants along the way, will that occur automatically or must I first go into Extras | Custom POIs | McDonalds?

I have a Garmin 1300 GPS. What type of sound file do I load for red light cameras, wav or mp3?

My friend just purchased a 1300. My 200W will allow me to set a specific location in another state, etc. Does the 1300 have a set location feature? If so where would it be found on the unit.

I many posts you read people (often the same people) complaining that Garmin keeps removing features from their newer models. I've asked in a few threads for people to list which features have disappeared, and at what price point. I have never heard anything more than crickets chirping.

Garmin Nuvi 680. I loaded a bunch of POI's, including Fast Food TourGuides, and they keep popping up on my screen. I don't want them to.

I am on a Mac, and have use POI Loader to 'remove all POI's' and I've even gone into the units file system and removed them manually, however they keep popping up on the screen.

Just noticed that MapSource and Garmin take different routes. Seems kind of odd that their software doesn't use their route. (Actually a better one.)

Any thoughts on that?

i just bought nuvi 765t from amazon. works great. right when i opened it, it defaulted to jill's voice. tried to update fw to 4.0 and still no jack. tried deleted jack's voice and updating webupdater but still no jack. any ideas?

I have a Garmin 1300, is it possible on this unit to set an alert distance for red light cameras or is it automatically set at 1/4 mile?

Have a C550 and the wires have spliced away from device that plugs into back of unit. approx 10 wires and i have no idea of the location of each wire to solder the wires to make cable usable once again. Any help?

I downloaded schools for my area southeast, converted it to TourGuide with sound alert(voice) distance set at 700 feet. Every thing worked great except that I was getting alerts every few miles because of (historical) schools. You might see a small bulding that at the turn of the century had been a school. What I wanted was actual schools where children might be present.

Just need a little help on removing the Red Lobster Garmin GPS Database file 116kb. I loaded this sometime ago and now want to remove it. I have had no success removing this from my Garmin 220w. I have used the poi loader several times uploading files back and forth many times and understand what it does. The Logo that shows this database file is the Mapsource Logo.

I guess I am a little block headed but, I have a POI

-XXX.XXXXXXX, YY.YYYYYYY, Alert "RR Crossing"

in a group of similar POIs. Also in my folder I have a sound byte

RR Crossing.wav

Why must I do to trigger the sound byte to play as I approach my location? Would you give me an example. using my information.

Hi All,
As we know that Nuvi has one thousand tracks limitation. If you add more than thousand songs, it can do unexpected behaviour.

I was wondering if I copy more than thousand songs but make playlists containing only two or three hundred songs. Will this trick work or not?

I will appreciate your advice as ever.

Downloaded and installed Mapsource version 6.16.2 Now when doing routes all way points a marked with a "dot" tried to change back to old style with "flag" icon but will not work. Anyone else having this problem or found a fix.

Could someone tell me what a speed Camera looks like?

Has anyone run into the following message when they connect their Garmin via Bluetooth to their cell phone?

"SAP Connection Denied. Delete and re-pair with 16 digit PIN code"

The message doesn't stop me from using the Bluetooth connection but it is more than a little annoying.
