My 1490T should be here in a few days and I've been thinking about a protective case.
Two years ago there was a thread about cases for the 2x5 series and someone here suggested a case at Radio Shack that fit perfectly even though it was designed for another piece of electronics. I went to a local store and picked one up on clearance for $5.
Just looking for suggestions for inexpensive protective cases for the 1490.
Thanks

I use the Garmin one that is shown on their site. Got it at Best Buy for $20.
1490t Protective Case.
I purchased a case at Radio Shack that is ideal. It is priced competitively. It is made by Gigaware and has an easy open-close magnetic flap. I highly recommend it.

Thanks
Thanks for the input.
I ended up finding a semi-hard sided case on ebay for $8.29 with free shipping. Just arrived today and should be more than adequate. My 1490T fits in perfectly and looks like it'll be well protected. Even includes a carabiner so you can clip the case to a bag, backpack, belt, etc.
Search ebay for item #400132720691, or seller coolgdou.

I bought a case for my first nuvi (genuine Garmin) from Amazon $$$$
I bought a case for my 2nd nuvi on eBay for under $5 with free S&H. $
eBay rocks!
Check amazon.com for GPS
Check amazon.com for GPS cases. I bought one last year that is a semi-hard case and it works great. Fits my 255W perfectly. It does not hold the car power cord adapter though. But that is minor as I just want to protect the GPS unit itself.

OK.....so where the heck am I?
Protective Case of 1490T?
I got a case for a portable hard drive. Just a little tight, which will adjust, and under $10 at Frys. Also has room for my iPhone. Doesn't look like a GPS case, and zips shut.
How do you like the 1490T
How do you like the 1490T? I have been considering an upgrade for my wife. Any insight would be appreciated.

I like mine. It works well
I like mine. It works well with the same features as most of the others but the BIG screen is great as my eyes get older.
If you don't have any problems seeing the writing on the screens of the smaller units save some money. The screen size is the the biggest advantage over the other 1xxx units.

Loving it
I got a refurb and its been great. I paid just about the same I got my 260 for two years ago and has a much richer feature set. A couple of hiccups, partly my own fault learning the ins and outs, but essentially trouble free.
The larger screen, customizable favorites, louder audio and many other things make me happy I decided to get one.
While a number of people here and elsewhere seem to have them, I've not seen a comprehensive comparison between it and earlier more basic units. I'm kicking around the idea of writing one, but don't know if there'd be much interest since they have been out for awhile now.

2590T
I've been happy with mine. I added the European maps, and used it in Spain, France, Belgium, the UK, and Italy with no problems.
