POI loader won't run in windows 7

I'm sure it's something easy but I can't get the loader to run in 7. I click on the icon, go through the steps and last step is click the box and hit done. I do that and the screen will disapeer after about 5 seconds. I have uninstalled and re-installed loader. I'm sure something is stopping it from running but at a loss as to what to do.
Any ideas?

compatiblity

Try right clicking on the executable file and change the compatibility mode to XP or whatever will work. Sometimes, works, sometimes doesnt.

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.

that was it thanks!

went in and changed compatability to run on xp service pack 2 and it runs fine.

Works with my Windows 7 Pro.

POI Loader Version 2.5.4.0 runs with my Windows 7 Professional just fine. Did not have to change anything under compatibility. I usually run it as Administrator but it doesn't seem to make a difference if I run it that way or not. Runs both ways.

Sounds like you are running an older version of POI Loader

Sounds like you are running an older version of POI Loader.

I run version 2.5.4.0 and it works with no special additional settings in Windows 7 32 bit on my desktop and Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop.

Changed compatability mode and it works fine..

As was suggested as soon as I changed it to run on xp sp2 it runs fine. Wouldn't run on xp sp3 though.

...

Mine works as it is just fine.

POI loader & Windows 7

Installed MapSource last week on my new PC with Windows 7. Got an error message when I started MapSource, updated it and MapSource runs without any problems on Windows 7 64bit, without having to use XP compatibility mode.

Aren't we talking about POIloader and Windows 7?

POI loader won't run in windows 7

Sorry, my mistake. I also installed POI Loader on my Windows 7 64-bit and had no problems. Did not have to use XP compatibility mode.

I have previously posted

I have previously posted about the error message from POI Loader in W7.

I have not followed up on uninstallation advice from POI Factory member yet so I'll try the above suggestion about XP compatibility.

Couldn't hurt.

I resolved my POILoader

I resolved my POILoader issue by re-creating the POI folder.

Now, I get UAC when activating POILOader. I have it the privilege level at administrator and I have admin user profile.

Anyway to fixed besides disabling UAC?

Probably not. Even though

Probably not. Even though it's less intrusive than the Windows 7 version, I still recommend disabling UAC. It's an annoyance.

Change poi loader to run in xp sp2 mode and you should be fine

Using windows 7 and since I changed the compatability of poi loader to work with windows xp SP2 have not had a problem in almost a month. It would not work with sp3.

POI Loader Won't Run In Windows 7

Just loaded POI Loader in my Windows 7 machine and the current POI loader runs great on my machine.
