Just to rehash some old stuff re: audio content, POILoader & sox

Since I'm dying to exploit my nuvi 500, I have been trying for days to get audio to work on it instead of the useless "bings" when approaching notification points. I have done my research, albeit the posts were close to 2 years old when written. They did state though that sox v14.0.1 worked and that sox v14.2.0 did not. I downloaded the newest, latest and greatest, and all I got was the old Southwest Airlines "BING!" Tired of that (and bullheaded as all get-out), I found that archives at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sox/files/), downloaded 3 versions, and placed them into the unit one buy one... No version newer than v14.0.1 worked. So if you are trying to put audio into your unit via .wav files, skip the new and go old school....

See the below:
06/22/2010 22:56     1,098,015 RedLight - sox 14_0_1.gpi
06/22/2010 22:41       257,115 RedLight - sox 14_1_0.gpi
06/22/2010 17:42       257,115 RedLight - sox 14_3_1.gpi

It seems the newer version of code doesn't really include the audio content in the .gpi file. Notice the much smaller size. These were all run against the same folder and included the exact same files (3 .wav files @ 145.86 kb each).

My $.02
