I have a feeling this is going to be a work up but here goes. I pick a remote spot on Google Earth and save the location as a place mark. I covert this file from KML to CSV. Then use POI Loader to put into Mapsource. But that's were it goes missing. From what I'm reading this can't be done. Basically transferring a Google Earth place mark to Mapsource. Any help appreciated
Thanks,
Mike
You're right...
POI Loader's primary purpose is to convert files to Garmin's binary .gpi format. POI Loader works with the GPSr hardware to load binary files into the receiver. POI Loader isn't designed to work with MapSource...(I think. If I'm wrong, correction will come from our fellow windmillers asap.)
MapSource doesn't read .gpi or .csv files. It reads .gdb, .mps, .gpx and .loc files. Since it reads .gpx files, you could convert from .kml to .gpx and then open the .gpx file in MapSource.

How are you converting from KML?
Are you actually changing the file content, or just changing the file name extension? If it's the latter, that won't work.
Using Extra_POI_Editor.exe
to convert to .gpx. Then load to MapSource.
