Garmin talk

I am perplexed as my map source wont load as it says i need a map source product ,I had map source working a month ago now it doesn't work ,any ideas.

I am using the nuvi lifetime maps on my c530. With the 2009 maps, I was able to load most states on the c530, and the few remaining states + Alaska and Canada on a memory card. With the new version 2010.10, the options for loading from the .exe are East, or West, or Upper, etc. I can choose to load remaining states onto the external memory card through mapinstall.

Corrected an issue that could cause audio problems on phone calls longer than 5 minutes.

I'm a owner of Street Pilot 580C which has two built in speakers, the announcer's voices are loud. I am considering to get Garmin 885T.

Has any one compared the voice level of 885T with 580C?

How would I load red light bmp Icon files for POIs onto my GPS?

And where do i rename it on my gps unit?

Has anyone tried to use the rear external antenna on the their Nuvi? My Nuvi takes several minutes to acquire Sat signal and I was wondering if using an external antenna would help. Did you buy one from Garmin?

I have a Nuvi 855, and wonder about one Navigation Avoidance choice, the one concerning Car Pool Lanes.

I have my Nuvi set to "NOT Avoid" Car Pool Lanes, but don't know what that choice really is achieving. I use carpool lanes whenever possible, but have NEVER received any spoken instruction or reference regarding those lanes.

Anyone know if/where/how I would store a .gpx route in my nuvi 660 and be able to pull it back up so I could follow the preplanned route ?

I was on a trip last week from Atlanta, Ga to Columbus, Ohio driving on I-75 and used my wife's Nuvi 350 this time. I lost the signal for 25 to 50 miles at a time traveling in either direction. No matter what I did, it would not acquire Sat. signals until it was ready. Never had this problem with the 350 since we got it in 2006.

Is there some where one can download or purchase additional icons packages, other than the eighty-eight that Garmin has pre-installed in the Nuvi's?

I've come across many locations that I have stored in my Favorites that what icons Garmin has pre-installed don't really fit the description of the location.

I created a set of POI for a hotel chain - but when I loaded it I don't see it under the extra's but when I search for something that should be in it in the regular lodging area I find them.
I made this list from the chains web site and included icons and several pages of description for each point. I also set the category for each point.

I understand that the 360 can have devices connect to it for hands free junk. But can I connect the 360 to a bluetooth car deck (via bluetooth) and have the navigation play through my car speakers?

I plan on buying a new car deck in the near future, and this is the deciding factor.

Well I am the proud owner of a new 265wt. I've already had it in he car for more than a thousand miles or so and while it's "mostly" a good unit for the price, it is a bit pale compared to my 60csx with regard to POI displayed.

I read through the FAQ and could not find what I wanted to know. What I want to know is can I change some of the settings screens on my Garmin 750 like:

On navagate, I want to see time to get there, not what time I will get there.

Can the clock be seen on the map screen while navagating?

I've had an issue with my 770 where the Home location is lost. This has happened twice to me - each about a month apart. When I press 'Where To?' and then Home the unit tells me my home location is not set. However my Home location is still in the favourites.

I have to delete my original favourite (so that there aren't 2 Home favourites) and then re-set my home location.

Hello all! I'm kinda new to all of this GPS stuff but I was just wondering if there's a POI for Marble Slab Creamery locations. If there isn't then I will try to create one for it will be my first for the Garmin series. This is a wonderful site and I am thankful for the contributions that everyone has given to this site!

Is there anyway if my Garmin 885T is ripped off that it can be used if I have a password on it?

So are any of you familiar with Garmin's cityXplorer series of maps?

Im pondering buying the latest version for Los Angeles cause it covers my area. I figure the $15 is a lot cheaper than the $99 for the Full City Navigator North America...and frankly I dont drive much outside this area, and can likely live with the 2009 maps for a while outside of the LA area

Is there a way to increase the speaker volume when on batter power? It is noticeably lower than when running when plugged in. I understand the brightness going down to conserve and can adjust that but all volume settings are at 100%. I have the 765T if it matters. Did not see this mentioned while doing a search so guidance appreciated.
