Unable to add or delete POI's

I have a Nuvi 855 having trouble adding and deleting POI's. I tried to add new POI's to the orginal POI's I had added a few days ago and the POI loader said they were added but they weren't on the GPS(the original ones were still there). Since then I have tried to delete the orginal POIs with the loader so I could start over. I selected "remove all previously installed POI's from your device" on the POI loader. I get the message "congratulations! you have successfully removed all custom POI's from your device". When I uplug my nuvi and check, the POI's are still there. Can someone help?
If you have a mack delete
If you have a mack delete the files fom the recycle bin before unhooking from computer.

Don't have a mac. Did try it on my PC anyway. No files in the recycle bin to delete.
When you run poiloader again
When you run poiloader again it overwrites the files already on the unit.Also you can go into the Garmin folder and delete the gpi file.

just delete the file in the garmin folder. I think it's the gpi file. Save a copy on your hard drive to be safe.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but are you looking at your custom POIs or the built in POIs?
On my 750 the custom POIs are located under WHERE TO > EXTRAS > CUSTOM POIs
