I purchased 2 Nuvi's 765t's. For Christmas presents, factory refurbished about 3 months ago. I tried to register and update map on one of them Christmas day. It had already been registered by someone else March 21, 2009. So I could not download a Map. I tried to up date firmware, but could not get a complete update. It would not boot to menu after installation.

i am new to updating or downloading pois to my gps. i followed all the instructions and they downloaded to my nuvi. how do i use them? i cant find them once i unhook my usb cable. where was it supposed to download them? are they supposed to be excel files? help

Hi everyone!!!! I'm new into the gps world so I've got a quick question....When i'm out offroading (where there no roads) can my gps plot the way i'm traveling so when I want to return at a later dat I can take the same route?.....tks cj7

Not sure if I got a Dud unit. I've been using the bluetooth feature on my Nuvi 760 for a couple years now, and it works great. A Few days ago, I switched to a 765T and the bluetooth is junk. It cuts out, people can't hear me, etc... Does this sound like a Dud unit, or is the Bluetooth feature worse on the 765 as opposed to the 760?

Any input is appreciated.

Hey all, I'm having troubles with creating tourguides in GPX format. Up to this point all of my tourguide files have been in .csv format so I have to manually input the distance for every single tourguide file.

I bought 255WT last week. It was going smooth till today. Today my Garmin is giving me hell. The voice function is sticking down. When you going on road suddenly when narrator given instruction to turn voice is getting stick there. I mean its kind a static or something. Gives continues sound. Like the one we get from audio speakers when cellphone rings near by it.

I just bought my wife a Nuvi 285 and she was entitled to a free map update which I downloaded to my laptop.

Does anyone know if I can use the 285 map update on my nuvi 760?

Hi Folks,
I am a new garmin 255w user. I used the garmin POI uploader and installed some files successfully (various coffee shops and some bike trails) but some of them do not upload to the device - cool ones like the bigfoot sightings and the famous death sites.... Can I just plop those in a folder on the device? If so, which one, and if not, how do I get them installed??

I had a problem when I tried to check out the speed and red light cameras after I "thought" I had installed the poi in the 255WT. So now today I am looking thru my Garmin and I see "extras" and "Custom POI" and the speed cameras and redlights are there and nothing else, so I thought I forgot to install all the others I got here like the rest areas, wendy's etc.

Garmin 255WT, how do I select just a "city" as a destination (no address) and I need to save that destination and name it just like an address so that I can just bring up the favorites-addresses, click on it and head 500 miles to that city, then click on the next city and go another 500 miles to that city, etc?

How can I get my POI's off my C330?

I just updated my Nuvi software from version 6.00 to 6.20.

1. Has anything been done to remove the cross streets from being displayed?

2. Do others find that acquisition of satellites takes significantly longer?

3. Any other differences Nuvi 350 users have found?

Did something reeealy stupid. Upon receiving the 780 I plugged it in to charge, and after, selected Russian as the language. Don't ask how that happened, long weekend perhaps. Trouble is, I don't speak or read Russian.
How stupid was that!? I can't follow any text instructions.

Can some one please tell me how to correct this problem?

I downloaded and installed the red light and speed cameras from this website, now how do I know where they are when driving alog? I just drove out on our freeway where I know 2 different cameras are located. The speed is 65mph and you will get a ticket going 11mph over that so at 76mph you will get a ticket.

The latest Costco Magazine received yesterday shows a Garmin 1390T with lifetime traffic and LIFETIME MAP UPDATES starting on January 7Th. Does not show a price and is not on the Costco website yet. It says less $100 but no price....

I have a new 255WT and was wondering how to get it to display the remaining distance in miles on the screen after I have entered an address and am on my way?

The cigarette lighter power socket in my car is not working. When I drive with my nuvi 775T running on battery power, I do not get any traffic alerts. Any thoughts on how I can get traffic alerts on battery power?

Does anyone know if the AC power adapter from the the Nuvi 765 is compatible with the 1490T.
The AC adapter for the 765 is 9v and I believe the AC adapter for the 1490T is 12 v.
I don't want to ruin my new 1490T with the wrong adapter.

HI All. Just updated from my old street pilot to a nüvi260w. I installed the latest maps and downloaded the newer software (6.1 I believe)

Did a check with webupdater tonight, and there was nothing new. So, I went to myGarmin and it said there was new SW to install... Checked my free space on the nuvi and it stated 4110.9 megs. Did the update and now is down to 4109.4, a difference of 1.5 megs. FW version is the same (3.90), no new voice updates, help files, or anything I could see.

Thoughts on this?
