Create your own voice alerts

I have found this site you can create the own voice alerts. Choose voice (American/English; Male/Female), type what you want and click download. A wav file is created with your alert.

Nice avatar sweetie, it is nice to see you here. How is life?

Miss POI

Or Record your GPS Voice...

I bought a Garmin AC to 12v adapter that powers my car cradle. Plugged a 3.5mm male-male patch cord into my PC to record the sounds from the GPS. Then turn off the GPSr and run in simulation mode. Either set up a Waypoint with the name of the place you want in your voice alert, or set your location to a place close to the POI you want spoken. Then GO to that waypoint/POI with the PC recording the sounds. It's a little more work, but I like having the same navigation voice announce the alerts.

Recording Jack or Jill.

Dave817, Another way to accomplsh this and get any phrase or wording you want is to use Turboccc's TTSVoiceEditor program. Change item 94 "Please drive to highlighted route" to whatever phrase you want to record, then start the nuvi in navigation mode to any location. After recording your custom phrases, use the voice editor to restore the original phrase.
