I have a new 255WT and was wondering how to get it to display the remaining distance in miles on the screen after I have entered an address and am on my way?
Thanks for any help as I must be missing some setting?

The cigarette lighter power socket in my car is not working. When I drive with my nuvi 775T running on battery power, I do not get any traffic alerts. Any thoughts on how I can get traffic alerts on battery power?

Does anyone know if the AC power adapter from the the Nuvi 765 is compatible with the 1490T.
The AC adapter for the 765 is 9v and I believe the AC adapter for the 1490T is 12 v.
I don't want to ruin my new 1490T with the wrong adapter.

HI All. Just updated from my old street pilot to a nüvi260w. I installed the latest maps and downloaded the newer software (6.1 I believe)

Did a check with webupdater tonight, and there was nothing new. So, I went to myGarmin and it said there was new SW to install... Checked my free space on the nuvi and it stated 4110.9 megs. Did the update and now is down to 4109.4, a difference of 1.5 megs. FW version is the same (3.90), no new voice updates, help files, or anything I could see.

Thoughts on this?

I just upgraded from a Pharos 150 GPS unit which I didn't really like for its software mostly.

There are several things that I do miss already after playing around with the 255WT:
1) Not being able to change 2D/3D/North up directly from the map screen.

I picked up a stellar deal on the Jawbone2 Plus at Costco yesterday! However, as we all know, the BT PW for the Nuvi is 1234, but the Jawbones' is 0000. Anyone know of a way to do this?

We're leaving from Peoria, IL for Biloxi, MS right after xmas and we'll be there until March 15. Anyone know of any detours, problems, etc that we may encounter on I-55 South? We plan to stay on I-55 most the way thru MS.

I have a 755t, and I live in the DC area, whenever I turn it on and it always say no traffic, but if I let it sit for a while. Man traffic start to pop up like there is no tomorrow. The problem become, whenever I turn it on and go right away, it would always send me into a highway with 30 mins delay and it wouldn't inform me of it until I almost hit it.

Happened to run Webupdater this evening and discovered software update version 6.20 available (dated 12/18/09) for my 350. Sounds familiar to the recently reported 6xx update.

Changes made from version 6.10 to 6.20:

• Fixed problem where certain voices could sound garbled.
• Fixed issue that could occur working with Safety Cameras.

Is there a way to download the custom locations entered into your GPS to a .csv file? Thank you in advance for your information.

My pet peeve is being given directions to use road names when there are no names in sight but there are well marked route numbers posted all over the place.

Is there a way to make auto routing skip certain roads? My understanding was that some other units have this, but I haven't seen anything about it for the 755T.

Is it 2009 or 2010? I just purchased a 265wt, don't know if I can update the map for free.

I, like everybody else, have complained about the drastically underpowered FM transmitter in my nuvi. I happen to have the 765T.

I just wanted to report that there is indeed a way to adjust this, and I was 100% unaware of this. I figured I'd let everyone else know about this in case anyone else here was in the same boat as I with regard to this issue.

This has happened to me several times since I bought my Garmin 250W serveral years ago.

For no reason I can determine, the voice instructions will become "stuck" and repeat an instruction continuously such as "TurnLeftTurnLeftTurnLeftTurnLeft..."

All I can do is to mute the darn thing, but after a bit, I can unmute, and all is once again fine.

This has probably already been covered but I couldn't find the answer.

How does one determine what POI updates have been included in the Garmin map updates?

Is there an easy way to compare one map update to another?

I ask because my new Nuvi 1250T with the latest 2010.3 map update seem to be missing POIs and have some very old obsolete POIs included.

I have the following problem. Let's say I check online for closest location of Barnes & Noble in my area and it says:

395 Route 3 East
Clifton, NJ 07014
973-779-5500

For the life of me I cannot make the GPS to make a route to this destination (no such street: Route 3) ... how do you tell it to go for destination with state route in address ? thanks!
