When I start my Garmin, I see the battery status, but once I am navigating, the battery status (and signal strength) vanish from the display. Is there any way I can keep the battery status on the screen while navigating? Thanks for any ideas.

Been a while...still love my Nuvi 265T.

Since the recent Droid update I am now able to download the address book from my Droid to my Nuvi 265T. It can make and receive calls. I can even check recently dialed, missed, and received calls.

Does anyone know anything about the Garmin Nuvi 1690?

Had a strange thing happen to my 765T this weekend. I use the Australian_Karen voice, which is why I call my Garmin 'Sheila'. I drove to Mobile from Montgomery this Saturday and 'Sheila' was with me when I left Montgomery and when I arrived in Mobile. I went to the Mobile Flea Market Saturday afternoon and put my Garmin in the console of my van.

For anyone still looking for Christmas presents, Best Buy has the 255WT on sale for $129.99. Last weekend they had the 255W on sale for the same price but now it is $169.99. I really didn't want the traffic for the folks I was buying it for but I sure won't pay more for less.

We've had our 765T for a few weeks now. No real problems to speak of.
But this Saturday I was out shopping, had the GPS in map mode for traffic warning, when suddenly it shut down and re-booted by itself. Not just once but 5 times in a 10 minute period.
We don't have any MP3 data on it. All updates have been installed and worked fine till now. 3D maps are on.

I bought a 1690 and used it for a week; when I clicked on weather a button for forecast would appear at the bottom of the screen. I had to take the unit back to exchange because the unit stopped working. The new one doesn't have the weather forecast button. When I called the help desk they told me to touch the city, when I did the forecast appeared. Just in case anyone was having the same problem.

Just downloaded new update for nuvi 680. May be available for other 6xx series as well. Version 4.70 to 4.80 dated Dec. 15, 2009

I loaded some mp3 sound files in to my Nuvi 765T but hear no sound set on simulator. Wave files work fine. Is there anything I have to do with the mp3 files to make them work?

I have a 750 with maps that are old (2007)! I noticed that Garmin has a new map update($69) and lifetime update ($119). Is there a better "deal" out there or is this it? I am noticing that I do need something because with all the new construction completed 2 years ago in my area, my 750 can not deal with it.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to install the Garmin POI Loader on my PC running Windows 7. Part-way through the install process, a pop-up states that the install cannot continue unless I can point to the 'MAIN.msi' file from a previous installation of the POI Loader....

I am planning a trip to Albuquerque in early June. I intend to head down to Billings and take I-25 through Wyoming and Colorado. I will have five days for the trip down and would like to take in some of the tourist attractions, history and scenary.

Any suggestions for unique sites would be greatly appreciated!

My nuvi 350 shows golf courses as I am going along. How do I make it stop? I no longer care where golf courses are.

I'm having a problem installing the Garmin map update 2010.30 on my new 765T and hope someone can help. After extracting map update I get a message A communication error has occurred. I tried a few times and always get the same massage.
Also the icon on the desktop looks like an empty square. Could that be a bad download?

I am attempting to download my one time free map update. I connected the GPS and am downloading the 2 GB file through download manager. However, it is taking forever.

I have connected my Garmin 255W to my PC in the past with no problem. This time I connected the Garmin-to-PC cable and I got the twotone bleep as always. But when I start the POI Loader and it gets to the screen with the device list, the Garmin device is not in the drop-down list, only the Removable Disks. I disconnected and reconnected the cable and turned the Garmin on and off.

I'm wondering if anyone's succeeded at changing the default home screen on the 265WT (or on other models based on the same core code).

What I mean is this: I've hard-wired the unit into momma's car. Each time she gets in and starts the car, the GPS boots up and brings her to the home screen where she has to pres "View Map" to get to the live map view.
