Anyone know how to change the nuvi765t display for "Where am I" from degrees to decimal units?

Quite disappointed with the FM transmitter feature on my new 765t. Followed all the instructions to get the Garmin sound through my car speakers. Yes, it does work, but the amount of static is horrible. NOT a useful feature. Have tried different FM settings with the same poor results. Anyone having good success with this feature?

I REALLY need to have this sorted out quick as I leave to go back OTR tomorrow or the next day...

I've got a .csv file That I've created via Excel 2007.
I'm also running Extra POI Editor v4.02.

The file I've created has some data in the "comment" column like so:

Item 1, Item 2
Item 3, Item 4, Item 5
Item 6, ETC

To go to the next line, I've used the ALT-ENTER method.

To a Garmin nuvi265WT? The preloaded voice was pretty bad.

I would like to know if any one knows how to create custom voice alerts for Garmin Nuvi 1490T. The 1490T device doesn't play .mp3 files and I'm not sure if there is a way to create a custom voice alerts for the custom POIs.

Please let me know if anyone knows how to create it. I will greately appreciate it.

This is really strange. Just recently, I updated to the new Map from Garmin and added my new red light cameras from the site. All of a sudden, I have duplicate entries for all my favorites for some reason.

Hi...I have a Garmin C330 which I like very much. I entered 3 or 4 nice POI files into it and all went well. The next day I added a few more and after checking my device, it showed the ones I had entered the day before were gone and the new ones were the only ones installed. Does the C330 only have a small amount of loading space? Or am I doing something wrong with the insatllation?

I am using the red light camera poi files on my nuvi 265T. Usually, warnings display briefly in a small, unobtrusive box on the screen. Occasionally, the warning display will occupy a large box covering most of the screen, including any upcoming turn information and stays on the screen for awhile unless I tap 'ok'.

We're leaving for AZ soon and I was wondering if the closed Rest Areas there had been marked or deleted from the RestAreasCombined file? I've been assigned to a High Blood Pressure med now and have to watch for stops along the way. Sure be warmer there!

Has anybody received a warning or ticket for speeding because of the Garmin listed Speed Limit? Is the accuracy good for big city speed changes?

Is there any way to have points of interest show up on a NUVI 755T map. I know when I have the map up and I am scanning around my local vicinity, I see fuel stations, churches, mac machines, etc. But when the map is just displayed and I zoom in, I do not see them. When I say scanning round them map, I am touching the screen and moving to different locations.

First off; I'm completely new to Garmin and car-GPS in general.

I have just downloaded the free map update from Garmin: When I'm about to install it, the software tells me that there are too little space on the GPS, thus I have to choose which parts of Europe I want installed. However, I have installed a SDHC 8gb in the GPS, so I don't see why it would be too little space.

Just got Nuvi 765t. Downloaded User Manual PDF from Garmin. Also downloaded POIs from this site which I can see in my Where to? ==> Extras ==> Custom POIs.

Manual says that I should be able to change the proximity alert settings, by touching Tools ==> Settings ==> Proximity Points ==> Proximity alerts. However, Proximity Alerts do not appear in my Settings Menus.

What am I doing wrong?

I notice that when I open the custom.gpx file that the address book listings appear to be nothing more than a separate category in the POI, is this correct?

I have found this site you can create the own voice alerts. Choose voice (American/English; Male/Female), type what you want and click download. A wav file is created with your alert.

From reading different entries in the FAQ area I have determined the following:

1) The custiom POI files like Wal-Mart and Rest Areas do not have built in alerts.

2) I can add custom alerts to these files or use the default alert if I set it up by loading manually.

I don't know if this has been discussed here before but I ran across this info while doing a little surfing.
