Garmin 755T Advertisement Bars.
On my 755T I get very small pop up boxes with ads.
How do I get rid of them?

Stored Speed Limits...
Is there a way to edit the speed limits that are displayed on my garmin unit? Say there is construction or the city raises/loweres the posted speed limit. Thanks.

Where's the Zip Code tab?
I've just noticed the Zip Code feature in the Where To is now gone. Anyone else notice this?

Organize (alphabetical order under custom POIs)--Problem solved
Wonder if this can be done? I have an icon under "Where to go?" called Extras. In there are my Custom POIs. You hit that and you get all the goodies we so cherish. First one is All Categories which i would really like to get rid of, but i think when i did that the last time I lost all of it, so i'll leave that one alone. What i really want to do is have this all alphabetical.

coming home from a trip using a custom route
i used google maps and created a custom route that i then loaded into my Garmin Nuvi 1300 but i was just thinking, what about when i go home and i want to take the same route?? do i have to load a custom route from the destination back home?

newer garmin generetion
I am just curious... I own a 755 nuvi and was wondering if the ones who owns an 7x5 series over the new garmin generation saw some improvement. In the affirmative, which features are "a must" to you?

Any GPS that warns when exceeding the speed limit?
Is there a GPS (Garmin or other brand) on the market that shows the speed limit as well as your current speed AND warns you if you are exceeding the speed limit?

How do I down load a POI sound into my Garmin Nuvi
I downloaded the POI Loader and then created a file and placed POI MP3 sounds within the file, from the website. I then tried using the POI Loader by pointing the POI Loader to my files. I received a messages that states "their are no files in that directory"
Please help; I have been on this site trying for a few hrs now.

MSN has their traffic service available until Jan. 1, 2012 for $29.00. This is the best deal I could find for my streetpilot c580. Two years for $29.00 is not bad.

Hi, I am a Newbie! i just downloaded to my Mac, Garmin Roadtrip, and i have NO IDEA how to use it, i have searched the web, but really cannot say i found anything that helps.
my questions really are
1 What exactly is it good for?
2 how do i use it????

Saw a GPS with a 7" screen
I was at costco the other day, and they had a GPS from Magellan, I think, with a 7" screen! What is that about? Is it for blind drivers? Kinda like the braille at the drive-through ATMs?
Can you even legally sit that on top of the dash? It'll block out, well, EVERYTHING. Is it a size thing?
Wow... look at the guy in that Porsche! He's got a huge global positioning system!

POIs on mini-SD, unit aksing for installation of new extras every time it boots
Hi pople,
i own Garmin 275T with 2010.30 US and 2010.20 EU maps. I tried keeping all up to date per system files. tried FAQ and still my Garmin asks if i want to install new extras from mini-SD every time it starts... very annoying, can i set it to shut up with that ?
i tried both saying No and then Yes with checkmark to do the same every time, but it still does it...

NUVI 550 and NUVIfone M20 questions
Greetings,
I just got a NUVI 550 waterproof GPS in the mail and am testing it out tonight. Has anyone used this yet? It seems pretty neat and has a multimode feature. It automatically switches between nautical, topographic and street maps based on the mode you choose. I'd be curious to see what folks think of the 550.

To screw or not to screw.
For those of you that have your GPS mounted to your motorcycle handlebars, do you use the security screw? It seems the entire mount can easily be removed with a socket and/or wrench so long term "out of sight" would be out of the question. But how about short term, with bike in sight? Do you put any faith in the screw?

Street names missing in banners after 2010-4 update
I have been reading that some models of Nuvi no longer give the name of the upcoming street in the banner at the top of the screen. For instance my 660 says "42nd Street ahead" or some such. This has not disappeared on my unit. I gather some models do not do this but rather do something like "street ahead" It almost sounds like it's a change in some of the newer models.

Poor routing with update 2010.40, US & Canada
There was a major reconstruction of our local highway and many of the exits had been removed or drastically changed. The 2010.30 map update had all of these changes loaded and was working great, which made me happy.
Nuvi 855 and voice commands?
I'm new here to your site and have a few questions. I have the Nuvi 855 with the voice command feature and I have used it some but was wanting to now from others why the newer GPS units do not have this capability? Also how do others like there 855?
