Might be old news but Garmin came out with new firmware for the 13XX and 14XX nuvi series on January 21st.
There is also a new keyboard file.

Anybody bought Garmin's lifetime map update online map code
from Amazon? Is it the same as any store bought map updates? Amazon said it's the digital version. Looking for feed backs before I buy..Thanks!

Hello everyone it's been a while since I posted here is there any way to get your unit to voice the location of one of your favorites when your in close proximity. Ie "you are now approaching IHOP".

I have it on my desktop, but need to add it to my LT for a trip. Is it possible?

havent loaded pois to garmin for a while
downloaded latest poi loader (using win 7 )
installed and ran program ( i had just downloaded some motel chain pois for road trip in march )and tried to load to my 255w .
i see the motel chain in extras as a poi
when the poi opens no address after each one

I was wondering if there is a way to change the speed proximity points so it sets off at .5 miles, without having to change this every time you use POI Loader to load more content.

If I go into manual mode and change when the speed proximity alert sounds, it works. However, it does not save that feature. Anybody know how I can save my distances for when the speed proximity points sound?

Not sure if I have this right. But it appears that I can load as many routes to my Nuvi 765T as I want using Mapsource. Then I can import up to ten files at a time from those routes to hold in the device memory. If I want to access any of the other routes, then I have to delete some of the ten that I have imported and then import what I want from the remaining routes that I loaded.

Is it possible to put owner information on an initial screen - like on Blackberry, iPAQ, and other phones and PDA's?

Perhaps reprogram the initial warning to show owner info instead of telling you not to touch while driving every time you turn it on?

How do you extract existing POI's from the Garmin. We have a number of Garmins (10)and want to transfer some of the POI's in one Garmin to another.

How do you delete pictures in the Garmin 265T picture viewer section. It comes with some pics of buildings and some other views. I hope that I can some how transfer pics into the viewer from my camera ( I guess I need a micro mem. card to do this) Can you get some kind of adapter from the regular card to a micro card? does anyone know how to transfer files from nuvi 5000 to nuvi 1390T? the files on nuvi 5000 is not a gpx file they are GML files

hi, just wondering if the poi's when you edit them for alerts do they just alert when you set a trip or will they alert automatically, planning a trip to a city but when i get there just wanna drive around and see some sites will the nuvi alert me if any of these poi's are near?

I have a CAD file that I would like to use as a map on my Nuvi 360 or Oregon 200... DWG or SHP files into GPX or LOC file. Any help out there? Thanks in advance for any help...

I´m new here and new to the gps world. I bought a Garmin Nuvi 255W a few months ago and my son in law was going to put a new map onto a SD card for me and acccidently formatted the Nuvi instead of the SD card. I had downloaded a update of the USA map that came with the Nuvi so I was able to reinstall that map but I know that the basemap is missing.

I just bought a Garmin 265T and I wanted to put in my rest stop locations.
No problem with the location file or the reststop icon that comes up when you get near. But the sound file will not load, it has the same extension as the other files and I have used it on other units.
All that comes up on the screen is a tone and a box that says rest stop ahead.
Any ideas?.................Cy

So, we all know that some Garmin units support TTS Voices, and others don't. My question is this. Are the voices on the least expensive units that support TTS the same as the TTS voices on the most expensive units? And has anyone noticed a difference in the voice quality?
