MAP changes? Map Corrections.

Greatings everyone.

I noticed that there are a lot of errors on maps within federal areas (Military bases). I don't blame the map data base people because the problem seems to be in the federal people giving information.

What I am wondering, when Garmin's site tells me that there is a map available for purchase where can I go to see what changes are available? I don't want to spend all that money if changes arnt pertinent to my area.

Second, Is there a way to edit the map itself? In my circumstance there are a lot of streets that are "one way". The data base considers them to be normal streets and thus gives bad routing advice.

Thanks for any help.

Garmin map viewer:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1456#coverageTab

Click on the map to open the map view, zoom in/out pan around, etc.

You cannot edit the map yourself to correct any errors. They must be reported to Navteq. Any corrections will be made by Navteq after research and verification of mapping errors:

report errors

besides Navteq, the first link has a link to https://my.garmin.com/mapErrors/report.faces where one can report errors to Garmin.

Also Google maps has a "report a problem" link in the lower right-hand corner of their maps.

I would think that both Garmin and Google just pass their information on to Navteq
