Icon and Alert mesaage fail on 765T

I have tried everything I can think of from the FAQs to get the icon and alert message to work on the RestAreasCombined(Ver.T) POI.
I set up a separate "upload" folder and placed the following in it. It looks to me like I made the correct modifications to the .bmp and .mp3 files.
Low_Clearance_12409.bmp
Low_Clearance_12409.gpx
Low_Clearence_12409.mp3
RestAreasCombined(Ver.T).bmp
RestAreasCombined(Ver.T)
RestAreasCombined(Ver.T).mp3
I have tried this on two different rests stops near me. The Garmin does show the rest stops, but uses the standard chime and the black bar notification. The custom icon and the custom alert message do not come up.
I went back in and removed the custom POIs and re-installed them, didn't work.
Does anyone see anything wrong with the file names? Or can anyone offer any suggestion?
I'm using a new laptop running WIN-7.
I haven't tested the low clearance POI since no low clearance is nearby, as far as I know.
Thanks for any guidance.
Proximity Alert
I assume you set a proximity alert in POI Loader -right? I have a 765T and the alerts work perfectly. On occasion, I have failed to set the proximity alert in POI Loader and don't get an alert. However, I also have a 1390T and it does the same thing your 765T is doing. It will display the bar but no audible of the custom alert.

You have to zoom in to the see the icon(bmp)
The biggest problems with the alerts and icons not working are the files not being named the same except for extensions and having double extensions. Double-check each of them. They have to be exact a space in one and not the other will cause a problem. The best way to prevent double extensions is to go to your folder options in the control panel and click view then find hide extensions for known file types and remove the check mark. Click ok.
See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 to recheck and make sure you have them correct.

Short Names
Keep your POI names as short as possible to prevent conflict of names... drop all that combined stuff and keep it simple like:
Low Clearence
Rest Area
Walmart Sams........... and etc.
your RestAreasCombined(Ver.T) above shows no extension?
GPX? CSV? or what?
Keep it SIMPLE AND EASY!
AND THEY ALL WILL WORK!!

I think you nailed it!
I "unhid" extensions in the File Folder Options and found that both the .bmp and .mp3 extensions were doubled.
I re-named them, removing the extra extension. I will up-load tonight and test it again tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Worked fine, but the silly icon sits right on the road and is almost impossible to see.
Thanks for the help. Charlie gets top points.
