I hope we can all appreciate the men and women who served in WWII and later wars.
I uncle James was a P-38 Lightning fighter pilot in North Africa. Had a couple of German shoot downs and escorted a shot up B-17 back to its base, even though it was not his assignment. He ran out of fuel just as they arrived and landed on fumes. My cousin had his medals and they were impressive. Both gone now, but remembered often.
