Has anyone downloaded a file for red light cameras in Canada and USA, so it can be loaded onto TT XL330?

I recently converted from a Garmin 200w to a TomTom 720 GO for Tom Tom's functionality.

I'm finding I'm having issue with the power button. How long does one need to hold it down for the unit to turn on?

First I will declare that I am a GARMIN owner/user.

The problem is an ongoing one that a relative has with TomTom.

He bought a new map online for his Go 720. Map size - under 250MB. The download stalled so he could not get the map. Look in the fine print in support (not up-front when buying) and they say his broadband is not recommended - should they say that up front?

Hi, I am new to this site and just got a TT XL 330s. I downloaded the Rest Area POI and converted them to be able to use with TomTom. However, there is not icon next to it . its just a Red square. How do I get the icon to show next to it. i would also like to have the warning sounds.

Every trip I plan I see "Do you need to arrive at a particular time". The manual says under 'Change perferences' then press "Show ALL menu options" so that "Show fewer menu options" is actually displayed that a "Do not ask arrival time" icon should appear. I do not see the icon anywhere.

Why is this icon missing?

I have some POIs and a map I purchased from TT loaded on a 1 Gb SD Card. When I insert the SD in my TT the screen displays an ARROW coming out of the TT SD SLOT and a RED 'X' crossed out on the SD CARD. My TT works fine once I remove the SD Card. The manual or the TT Support pages don't explain this or how to correct it.

Can someone assist me with this? Thank You ALL.

I recently bought a 720 that came with North America map v710.1584 and voice recognition works. My understanding is that the current North America map is v7.20. Does anyone know if voice recognition will still work with v7.20. If not can it be made to work.

Hey guys after my first One crapped out Tom Tom sent me another One only this has trouble getting GPS signal. My older unit would grab a signal almost instantly outside and quickly near windows now it takes minutes to get a signal in the car and I couldn't even grab a signal messing around on a bus yesterday (Straight Windows).

Anyone have any idea why TomTom seems to have simply stopped updating the software for the unit included with the Eclipse AVN2210p? I was so excited when I bought this last year, but now it seems like the software is WAY behind when compared to every other TomTom available.

Whomever is responsible for the proper pronounciation of the English language needs a refresher. Not only has my Tom Tom failed when MOST needed on recent business trips 3 times in a row, due to a non functioning 12-Volt charger (or so they tell me, and have sent me a new one, not yet received in the mail), but the major cities in the USA are not pronounced correctly.

Currently, I own a Garmin c530, but I'm looking to upgrade. I'm seriously looking at the TT 720 or a Nuvi 750. 720 owners can you tell me what you like about your units. If you've got any experience with both, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

I'm hoping somebody can help me out w/ this. My TT was working fine everyday, then I went out of town for a few weeks. When I came back, it wouldn't turn on. It has been plugged in, with the green light showing it is getting power, but no display. I've tried it with the car charger, the wall outlet, and the USB cable, all to no avail. The computer doesn't even recognize when hooked up.

I'm new to this whole GPS thing, however the TomTom One that I was given for Christmas has proven invaluable in everything that I have used it for. I travel on occassion for work and have used it. I was really surprised how accurate it is and how it really brings you almost to the front door of your destination.

Hope someone can help. I'm looking for any tomtom ov2 poi files that cover the US, but they must have record types other than 2 (the boring standard).

I've grabbed a few from tomtom's site (mostly type 8/9), but they dont seem to have many - I need more to thoroughly test my POI software.

Does anyone know a good source for these ov2 types?

Just purchased TomTom 930T. At first, GPS location inaccurate until latest software fix downloaded from TomTom with the help of their Tech. Support advisor. Once done, it worked very well. Only problem so far ..... TomTom Plus services will not work with Verizon Wireless cell phones due to 'wrong system' used by Verizon. No fix planned by TomTom, however.

I just created an itinerary with waypoints (so I would go a certain way). Is there an easy way to reverse the route like on Google Maps?

I downloaded some .bmp files from this website and move them to USA_and_Canada on my TomTom ONE XL. I changed the name to match the .OV2 file but when I start my GPS all I see is a red square.

Does this MapShare or the ability to edit a street name really work?

I recently bought a Garmin in hopes that I could use it as a test item for my local ambulance to see if it would add value and result in our department adding them into our rigs. HOwever, I live in a rural area in Minnesota and even though we have E911 addresses the Garmin maps are not updated.
