I was wondering if there was a way to add the icons from this site onto my unit for poi's that are preloaded from the factory (ex: the speedway gas stations)

Tom Tom is much more confusing to me than is Garmin. With Garmin, I have to buy new maps every year or so. How can I tell if my 920 map is up to date? The Tom Tom home application says it is, but also wants me to buy new maps. Does anyone know how to look at the map version number and tell if it's up to date?

Has anyone found a decent alternative bracket for the One XL (or XL-S)? I saw the ProClip online, but is is a bit pricey. I'd like to find a bracket to semi-permanently mount (i.e. - no suction cups) in the car I use the TT in most frequently. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I'm new to the whole GPS thing, but am starting to get used to it a little. My brother has one and loves it, so he got me one as a B-day gift. I have a TT1, 3rd Ed. My question is, I dowloaded a POI listing from the HOME site for a nationwide restaurant chain, and several in my area of New Orleans are not showing up. Any ideas as to why?

I have a TOMTOM one xl and he use poi .tvl he dont seem to reconise Ov2 how can I convert it????

Hi there, I am travelling to Orlando at the end of April and I wondered if there was any way I could download a map which was up to date. The TomTom map seems to be out of date. I only need the Orlando Metro Area, but to include Disney etc.

I download .csv files from the POI Factory to my machine and try to import them into GPSBabelGUI. In the "Format for input from file" drop menu there are three items that I could readily identify as having a relationship to "csv". "Character Separated Values", "Comma Separated Values", "Mapopolis.com Mapconverter CSV". Which one do I need to choose to convert to Tomtom 700 .0v2 format?

Hi, I have installed seveal POI's on my Tomtom One with no problem but cannot get the Petro Canada POI bmp to work - it comes out as a plain red square. It is named the same as the OV2 file - any ideas?

Does anyone know how to delete the character in the address field of the .CSV files?

Background: So, I carry this old-school yellow pages around in the car. Phone numbers, addresses. My TomTom has a very poor POI set with addresses (and ph numbers, too? can't remember, maybe that's my magellan)... anyway...

I have a TomTom One 3rd, and was very dissatisfied with the inadequate Rest Area POI's. So downloaded the POI Rest Areas Combined file, converted it with POIEdit2007, and installed it in the USA_and_Canada folder of the TomTom Root Directory. It works GREAT and cudos to everyone who worked on it!

Does anyone know if TomTom home should work for the PDA version of TomTom? I can't get it to find my device. I am using Activesyc 4, an iPaq 4350 with WM 2003, and TomTom 5.

Ok, I know I can't give you much, but apparently T2 has a backup function and it has stopped working for my father. That is all i know. Didn't know if someone could give me a list of common backup issues and their resolutions.
