bmp icon
When I download the Logan's roadhouse poi files the bmp icon does not show up correctly its a red square.
does anybody know how to correct this problem please?

Greetings from Brazil!
I was thinking about a Garmin 885T, but many friends have chosen TomTom for the more frequent updates. So after reading a lot I have changed my option for a Garmin 885T for a TT 540, since Brazil cities and roads may more often change than in the USA.
Would like to know which accessories are suited for this unit not included in a standard TT 540 Box?

TomTom joins open-source patent collective

TomTom, the GPS maker being sued by Microsoft, has joined a collective of companies that have pooled their patents in an effort to help defend open-source software against legal threats.
Interesting, it seems TomTom is going to defend itself against Microsoft vigorously rather than settle.

Why Did You Chose A TomTom?
For those of you who bought a TomTom, what were your reasons to chose TomTom over another brand?
For me, here are a few, not in any particular order and certainly not comprehensive:
1. The ability to edit maps. I was really frustrated with that limitation with my Garmin.

TomTom Now Has Map Update Subscription for NA
TomTom is now offering a 4-quarter map update service. If you have a current map, it will cost you 11.95 per quarter or 47.80 per year. If your map is not current, you will need to buy the upgrades to make your map current first. My map was three quarters behind, and it only cost me about USD 30 to bring it up to date.

TomTom POI file - Address Display
I have a TomTom xls, it does not display the address and phone numbers like my garmin poi files did - is there a way when I am searching through my POI files (loaded on my xls) to see the phone numbers and addressess

TomTom One - won't stick to windshield
I recently bought a TomTom One 125. I kept the window mount suction cup unused, with the factory plastic wrapper until I was ready to use it.
I tried it on my car, after cleaning the windshield with windex and wipe. But the TomTom One won't stick at all, not even a little bit. This is a stark contrast to my Garmin mounts, which stick like super glue and is very secure.

Firmware 8.302 Available for GO X30
Among other things, this supposedly fixes the stuttering problem some people were experiencing. Based on one day's usage, it does seem to be better, but still not a 100% fix.
Also, now I cannot operate my GO 930 using TomTom Home 2.5.

FYI TomTom released 8.25 version maps yesterday for TomTom units.

Brand Icons
In the brand folder of my North American 815 map, there are 7 gas station icons, Texaco, 76, etc. How can I add more icons and tie them to the gas station POIs that came preloaded in this map?
