I have a tt720 and would like to get the voice recognition to work. I have added the required file to the asr folder and still need to up date my map to the 715 vervsion mention in previous posts. My questions are as follows, will voice recogntion work with newer versions of maps, if not were can I find 715 versions of the map?

I knew I would lose the thing and I am surprised I held on to it for 4 months (surprised me) Anyways looking at the Tom Tom website I can't find the USB cable, I also looked at some 3rd party sites and couldn't find the cable. I need to sync up my red light data and fuel cost info. Thanks in advance for any help

I like TomTom showing POIs on a map, but when i point on a POI on the unit's screen, it automatically opens a main menu.When I browse a map on my computer using TomTom home and point a POI on a map I see details about it on the computer screen. Is there a way to see a POI related info without searching for it?

I did a very thorough search of the forums and although I found a few similiar solutions none of them worked.

But I get in error message from PoiEdit when I try to open it. I did delete column 3 beforehand.

Has anyone else had a problem with voices in their TomTom. I added some music to the SD card in my TomTom, and now I do not hear any of the voices unless I use a computer generated voice. So the prerecorded voices do not work. Any ideas anyone?

I downloaded the combined state parks list but can convert it to ov2. I am a avid rv'er ( I pull a travel trailer) and That poi is the best I have found can some one convert it for me or send it to me pm me for email or just post how to fix it.

Like the title says, I cannot get the the Ruby Tuesday csv to convert to ov2 for the Tomtom, I've tried all csv formats in POIedit and none will recognize it. What am I doing wrong?

Apparently, to be active on this site, I have to contribute.

I've looked and cannot find information that I can understand on how I would post a POI. I am using a TomTom XL330 and a Macbook Pro. I did see a post that involved Microsoft Excel, but that's of no use to me.

Is there a way to convert a gpx to an OV2 file? I have routes saved from my Nuvi 760 that are in GPX format that I want to use on a GO730.

Or...is there a way to make a route in TomTom software where you can make a specific route and not let the gps change it? I liked that feature on the 760. I'm not sure if the TT Itineraries works the same.

I've tried to convert the "cracker barrel IL.csv" to ov2 and keep getting this error message: "3 to 4 values expected on line one" I did a search on the forum and see someone else had the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. I'd like to get it soonest, I'm going to meet someone in a Cracker Barrel tomorrow.

I'd like to point out a program to you guys. I discovered this program when I was playing around with itineraries. It is a free program called TYRE (Trace Your Route Everywhere) and its made especially to be used with Tomtom. Using the program you can access Google Maps or Google Earth and by clicking directly onto the maps to create waypoints, you can create your itineraries easily. It's a fun program to use and I recommend it to all. This is the link:

I recently converted from a Garmin 200w to a TomTom 720 GO for Tom Tom's functionality.

I'm finding I'm having issue with the power button. How long does one need to hold it down for the unit to turn on?

First I will declare that I am a GARMIN owner/user.

The problem is an ongoing one that a relative has with TomTom.

He bought a new map online for his Go 720. Map size - under 250MB. The download stalled so he could not get the map. Look in the fine print in support (not up-front when buying) and they say his broadband is not recommended - should they say that up front?

Hi, I am new to this site and just got a TT XL 330s. I downloaded the Rest Area POI and converted them to be able to use with TomTom. However, there is not icon next to it . its just a Red square. How do I get the icon to show next to it. i would also like to have the warning sounds.
