Asa a "newbie" so to speak it is highly possible this HAS been addressd but if not?--- Is there ANY software or data out there that I can instal or download to show the various Low clearance bridges in the different States? As I drive a wide variety of vehicles it would be of enormous benefit to me!!...Any & all suggestions would be more than welclome

Is the TomTom One limited to four pages of POIs? I have run into instances (especially with restaurants) where the number of POIs in a particular area is very dense and I can only get about 1 or 2 miles radius. I would love to continue to browse further and further out. Is there a way around this limitation?

I have the Red light & Speed Camers downloaded to my puter, but I cannot move the info onto my GPS. Any suggestions?

Just to add a bit to the advantage of the TomTom, I purchased the 900 model a couple of years ago. One of the main reasons for purchasing it was that it has maps of both North America and Western Europe included. (I live in Belgium). In addition for 40 euros per year you can subscribe to and download all of the safety cameras in Western Europe, of which there are many.

Visit www.lathey.co.uk and register. Once registered, you will be able to download voices ( defaults + celebrity ) for the TomTom and Speed Camera POI's that I have collected over the last few years.

There is also a TomTom theme that I have created for TomTom Navigator.

Is there any way to put multiple POI files into a single category on a TomTom 930? For example, I have downloaded POI files for Flying J, Love's, Travel America, etc. While traveling, I'd like to be able to search the nearest "Truck Stop" as opposed to searching multiple different POIs.

i am considering to buy a ONE 3rd edition - refurbished for $99
any opinions on this unit ?

Hi Everyone:

I'm a newbie into this awesome forum and require your kind help to convert this .CSV file (http://www.poi-factory.com/filemanager/active?fid=6453) into TomTom .OV2 format.

I've tried all my means (POIEdit and other converters) to convert this file but failed.

I created my own set of POIs and created an icoon for them. I tried to use red color, as specified on TomTom web page (http://www.tomtom.com/lib/doc/TomTomTips/index.html?poi_set_...) to show the icon as an ellipse on the navigator. The red color showed as red on the navigator and not as "see through color" as the note would indiciate. Has anybody created non-square icons?

How do I set a POI alert in miles rather than yards?

Also, is it possible to have multiple alert distances for the same POI? (e.g. set alert distance at 10 miles and again at 1 mile)

I've added the rest areas combined file as well as the accompanying sound and image.

I converted the csv to ov2
I converted the mp3 sound file to oog (did I need to do that?)
added all of the files to the usa_and_canada folder.

When I attempted to enable alert sounds for the POI, the newly created oog file was not among the options.

How do I test it to ensure that it works?

I own a Tom Tom 720 and a Garmin C550, I live in Tenn. and I entered my sons address to Shreveport LA into both units, The Tom Tom said it was 598 and the Garmin said 468 or so ?

I'm going to be upgrading my cellphone soon and need some info on compatible phones and my go 930. I've looked at the tomtom website and think it's incomplete, let me explain. I'm very much interested in the LG Voyager but according the tomtom site it's not compatible (at least the phone isn't on the list at all), here is where I don't think things are up to date.

While fooling around trying to get audio files onto my TT1 3ed, I found a free audio converter. I basicaaly just clicked on the first google search site that came up. Seems to work just fine, really quick and easy download. Its called Switch, and it can be found at the following site:

Hi all:

Is there a way to create custom poi's for TomTom from a database in which the poi's will show up in specific categories? For example, if I have an excel file listing all my poi data, long, lat, name, and also with one row containing the category name (even category names that aren't currently on my TomTom 920).
Can I import all this data into TomTom somehow?

I converted the alert .mp3 as explained in the FAQ section, but I'm trying to figure out where to load it on the GPS. Does it go with the maps or alert directory?
