A friend of mine has TomTom and trying to get poi loaded so the would work, I have a garmin c580 and I use poi loader for garmin, how do you load tomtom pois? please help

Hello Everyone. I am new to the world of TomToms and GPS in general. I have done a ton of research before Black Friday to learn about the models/options and have spent countless hours AFTER I purchased a TomTom ONE LE learning about the customizations that can be done on a TomTom ONE.

Things I have learned how to customize:

I just download , and need to use PoiEdit 2007 convert *.csv to *.ov2, but I can't use PoiEdit 2007 to open this file, it said some error. I don't know why?

I downloaded some POI's and converted them. Most worked, but for retail store Target and a few others, I got RED SQUARES for icons. How can I fix this?

Someone said something about 3 columns. I was not sure as to what they were talking about in that thread.

Any help would be awesome for my Tom Tom 720!

I recently drove from Maryland to Florida. While the TomTom One is an excellent device, it is crippled by the TeleAtlas maps. Luckily I had printed out Mapquest directions, which are based on NavTeq maps.

Not only did the TeleAtlas try to send me in the wrong direction, it could not recognize roads that have been there for years. The Navteq directions had no such problems.

Anyone know if these redlight cameras can be used on the Tomtom 720?

i want to travel to calfornia this month. So i need some maps of calfornia. Here in germany it costs app. 100$. Is is better to buy it in germany or in california? Are the maps availible in stores or online only ?

tomtom 510 was my first experience to use gps.
Unfortunately, it was terrible.

Just curious if anyone is using these poi files with their TomTom. I have it set to alert ONLY if the POI is on the planned route, and I still get alerted if the POI is within the designated distance. I would think that the setting to alert ONLY if the POI is on the route, would force the device to alert if the POI is on the same street, no?

How can i view a phone number of a p.o.i. in my tomtom one? When you create a custom poi it has a screen to input a phone number. Is this just for making calls with bluetooth or can i view the number some how?

Concord, Mass. — TomTom introduced today a new midline personal navigation device (PND) that allows users to update maps as they go and share the changes with other users.

The new TomTom GO 720 is a slim-line PND with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and is the first TomTom to offer optional RDS real-time traffic.

Costco is selling the TomTom ONE "Dad Pack" for about $300. Seems like a good deal, the only question is... will it be worth it? I know that TomTom uses the TeleAtlas maps, which seem a bit less robust. Anyone out there try this one yet, or know where i can find a good review?

Just found this attractive "pond" and jumped right in. The 80-page on-line manual from TomTom raises more questions than it answers. Fortunately, the menus are identical to your 510 and I hope you can enlighten me:

When making a test itinerary - either with TT Home or on the device - I am unable to delete all vestiges of it when I want to prepare one "for real".

Has anyone tested the new TomTom Navigator 6 software or upgrade for their TomTom Go/Rider/One?

They have a promotion where you can upgrade for free or with an nominal fee.

I have the TomTom Navigator 5.2 and the map is sort of outdated vs. Garmin, especially in the newer areas of Atlanta.
