I am trying to use Garmin's POI software however the buttons I really need to use are outside the window and cannot be resized or brought back in to the working area. What gives? is anyone else having this problem with the POI loader software? Many thanks!

Just got my Nuvi 350 and installed a couple POIs (traffic cameras). I drove through a couple of these areas today but my Nuvi said nothing. I looked in the manual and on Page 51 it says that I can turn on Proximity Alarms by going into the settings menu, then press SYSTEM, and should see a screen with settings for: GPS Mode, Units, Safe Mode, Touch Tones and Proximity Alarms.

I've been having quite a bit of fun with the voice files. I've made an English_Indian voice file that works great, but I can only use it as a replacement to the English_American voice. Renaming the file has no impact on what the unit sees, and you cannot change from one voice to another with the same voice name even though they are both listed. Haven't had any luck with the TTS voices though.

I would like to install the Map Update 2008 NT on my second computer to see this version in Mapsource. I ran the installation and it asks me to connect my c330 to it via usb. I got as far as the prompt to choose the lower 48 states or Canada and was afraid to go any further.

Had to send my 680 back to Garmin for warranty repairs. Wouldn't connect to the MSN Direct receiver - after trying resets to both the Nuvi and the MSN Direct receiver they sent an exchange MSN receiver/cable. That didn't solve the problem so I had to send the Nuvi in. And, the battery won't hold a charge that lasts for more than 45 minutes.

I'm a new Nuvi 350 owner who started out with a Mio C310x. The Mio for the most part did it's job getting me around the Massachusetts area, but the maps were fairly old.

I've read all the great reviews on the Nuvi 350 and decided to pick one up during the Ritz camera $299 sale. There are some things that I noticed that the Mio does better than the Nuvi.

I have a eTREX Venture Cx, does any body have any experience with this model (good or bad)?
I want to use it for Geocaching.

I have noticed a couple of instances where I travel the same direction and my C550 will want for me to take a different route. I would think that going from point A to B would be the same each and every time you take that route. Does anyone have an explanation for that?

Does anyone know if traffic is better between these 2 options? Do they use the same traffic channels? Does one cover better\broader than the other?

This is my first post to the forum. I come all the way from N Ireland and hope someone can help me ASAP please. When I use the Webupdater it says there is a problem with this application and gives the following error message:

while trying to load the 9/12/07 speed camera file the message "There was a problem transferring custom POIs to your device. Please try running POI loader again."
This is on a nuvi 680 but I suspect the problem may be in the data format? Any new POI tips/contributions in the St. Pete, FL area would be appreciated.

can anyone tell me how many waypoints I can have in a route that I made in mapsource and work on a quest. I'm used to making routes for my 2820 and have the ability to use 200 waypoints but I have been told its allot less for the quest

I just saw thru WebUpdater that a new version software was available, ver 4.10 from ver 3.80. Seemed like a good number of bug fixes, none that seemed especially crucial. Was looking for some feedback on the update before I jumped into it. Anyone who has updated have any issues, problems?

Much to my surprise, (and Garmin's), it appears that the latest map for the Nuvi series does not have very many "Staples" stores in their POI. With this being a new map, we wont see a fix for at least another year. Confirmed with Garmin tech support, this built in POI will not be in their upcoming 700 series.

What's your take on screen protection for your touchscreen. Are the garmin touchscreen well made where scratches rarely happen or should we all run out and get one?

I have an etrex Vista Cx & have the older version of the Topo maps. I noticed they came out with a 2008 version & was wondering if anyone had updated to the 2008 version from the older version & could tell me if it was worth the money. It doesn't look like it is upgraded all that much so if someone could tell me who has done it it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 250. I have installed the Garmin POI Loader onto my Windows XP system. When POILoader is started, there are no menu items or any actions I can take.

How should this POILoader be used?

My Garmin is connected via the USB cable and I know the connection works. I have uploaded new vehicles to it. Yet, POILoader does not give me any options to do anything.

Ideas?
