For anybody that has had a Nuvi stolen, there is a locked Nuvi for sale on Ebay. I can't get to Ebay from here at work since our proxy blocks auction sites, but you might want to check and see if there are any pics that show the serial number. Alternatively, you could email the seller for the serial number (but it seems that would be somewhat of a tip off).

I purchased a c340 a few months ago, BTW I really like it. I did not buy a more expensive unit because I also own a GPS II plus that I use on my boat and for hiking/camping etc.. I have owned it for ~10 yrs... Give or take a year or so.... But, comparing the two units, there are a few things I really would like to see on my C340:

i was looking at going hiking and i was trying to find a downloadable trail maps for my garmin etrex legend Cx and if they are actually able to be naved through i have heard that some downloaded ones cant be used a a nav map

My unit is a Garmin 276C v.500. I have added several Custom waypoints in the prescribed manner (I believe) and used them when creating a mapset on my PC.

They appear correct on my PC display, but when transferred to my GPS, they just don't make the trip, replaced with something more generic than normal.

I've noticed another splash screen that appears when you pass a POI and you are not looking at the map. I've noticed it for cameras and it displays full screen. It is just a plain gray screen saying camera alert, can the screen be modified?

Are the City Navigator NT Europe maps on DVD and SD card both v9? Garmin's website isn't clear.

Also, are there any City Navigator maps of the Caribbean?

Hi has anyone else had a touch screen failure? Mine failed after 6 months the dealer said it was a non repairable item and I would need to buy a new Nuvi! After some nogotiation and production of the original packaging I received a replacement. Moral keep the box.

I discovered this on a recent plane trip. Playing around with the zoom and track up, north up, and 3D views on my c550.

I've kept my display on 3D, it's what I prefer. However, while flying I changed to north up and track up to see the differences in flight.

What I didn't notice before, became evident right away.

I had problems after upgrading Mapsource from 6.12.4 to 6.13.1. After the update, I could no longer select the transfer option, either upload or download. If I did, the program crashed and I was asked if I would like to send an error report to Microsoft. For a few days, I was dead in the water.

Got my first GPS device, the nuvi 660...so far love what it can do...My question is does the new SD Memory card with SDHC with the nuvi 660 also what's the limit capacity it can take??

I have been in and out of the GPS world for a few years. Never a technical user until now. I was always a point and shoot kinda guy.

I have an old version of MapSource I bougth in 2002, an etrex legend and a CS330.

The lat\lon on the CS330 and legend do not match mapsource.

Changes made from version 5.50 to 5.70:

* Improved satellite acquisition.

I've got a StreetPilot c340. I'm planning to upgrade my map software to the new 2008 version. I bought my unit in March of 2006, so I don't expect to get a free update like many of you have been reporting. However, I don't have the unit registration code that came with my device when I bought it. When I buy the DVD to upgrade the maps, is that unit registration code needed to install the maps?

I'm a new Garmin user and wanted to install some custom POIs... when I use the POI loader to install a new POI file does it overwrite the previously installed POIs?

In other words, if I want to install a new POI do I have to install all the previous POIs again with the new POI?

I upgraded my Nuvi 350 with the 2008 maps. After finishing the installation, a new desktop shortcut was created named MapInstall. I opened the application up and installed the New York area.

I turned my Nuvi on and I don't know where to look for what I installed.

Can someone explain to me what this is suppose to do? Do I need to manually high light every area that I want to install?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have a number of MP3s on my Nuvi (not on SD card) and want to transfer it to my Blackberry.

The Blackberry instructions says it can receive files using bluetooth. I just don't know if the Nuvi 360 can send data using bluetooth.

If I can do this, it will save me from having to run out and buy a microSD card which is used by my blackberry.

I have a c340 and live in Queens, New York, the other day i went to use my GPS and I started to put in the address and when i when to put in the city Briarwood it would let me put up to the "I" and then it would pull up the city and it only listed Briarcliff Manor, NY.
If i had not known that this area is also known as Jamaica I would have never been able to get the address.
