Garmin talk

I updated to the 2008 map when it first came out and now found out that I am moving to Alaska (military). When I calculate the route to Anchorage it works fine, however there are NO points of interest at all in Anchorage.
Is this just how the data is, or did I not install it right?

When I create a route using mapsource and try to invert it so I'll have the same directions returning home, it creates a different route. How do I make a route and then have it reverse the exact way back?

I just found you folks and I have a problem. I downloaded several of the POI files from this site and loaded them on my 350. Now the problem, I had purchased this campground POI program, http://www.coolrvtoyz.com/servlet/Detail?no=18 . Now I can't find it. I reloaded the program and now I can't find the custom POI's from here. The program is an .exe instead of .cvs . Any suggestions?

How do I download and import grephics files? I have done a few POI files, but not graphics

Hi, I am new here. I just got a c340 and am trying to load some POI's, I put them in a folder on my desktop, when I try to load them it says it has to be a .csv or .gpx file ????? what do I do? I thought it was a csv file. Thanks Marvin

Hi to who can give some helps. Just bought a new Nuvi 350 and downloaded Mapsource 6.13.4 from Garmin web. However, when I'm trying to install it to my PC, it turns out that I cannot do that since there is no "previous" Mapsource already installed on my PC.

hello everyone, I have a quick question for you guys.... which GPS would you guys recommend me buying, the Garmin C550 Streetpilot, or Garmin nüvi 250W. ???? The price is only a 50 dollar difference...... I had my mind set on the Garmin nüvi 250W, but then saw the Garmin C550 Streetpilot for 50 bucks more..... thanks so much for the help...

I'm doing pretty good, learning to use my new Nuvi 660, but I ran into a new puzzle today.

I had seen a previous topic that described how to locate a destination by intersection, so I thought I'd give this feature a try.

can i change the icon on my streetpilot 340 (map)

i was wondering if there is a way of setting my c340 so when i reach my turn it gives me time to slow down..
right now i pass may intersection then it says turn left??

Have problems hearing my 660 even at full volume anyway of increasing volume by softwear?

I am wondering if Garmin Tech or anyone else can answer this? Where does Garmin get the retail shop/resturant files for presenting the user when looking in the shopping or resturants? Are they 'bought' from DEX or GOOGLE? Does it present the user with say Cold Stone Ice cream before Marble Slab? And how often are these files updated? Are they done with the Maps file updates??

Hello all, my first post here as well as my first question, I just purchased a Nuvi 250W, I had a few questions about the unit and found this site, However I have searched the forums and found info on the 250W to be thin. My question is, can I use Custom POI files? What exactly can I do to enhance my use of this unit? Can I download any custom car Icons for the Nuvi?

Is there anyway to disable the estimated time of arrival or to have it calculate traffic? Its really annoying when driving in the city to get estimated arrival time that is an hour off!

Hello all. I just got a Garmin c330. I was wondering where you guys have had the most luck in placement.

I was thinking about the windshield below the rearview mirror, but then I'd have to stretch to reach it. (I have a Dodge Durango) I was thinking on the dash in the upper left on the windshield as well.

I want to put it in the best spot so I don't have to reposition it.

We have just returned to the UK after 2 weeks touring New England. We thought we would give our opinion of the 670.

We updated the unit with the version 8 USA maps prior to leaving the UK.

It seems to me that the only POIs that show up on my map (without choosing them as a destination) are POIs that I have recently accessed - is this accurate?

As an example, I added my daughter's gymnastics school as a favorite (from Garmin's POIs). And when I drive past it on the highway - there it is on the map.

have the Nuvi 350. When i was installing the Garmin Language Guide from SD card I copied to the main unit. Power off the unit and but my other SD card with mps and my custom POI back in to my suprise could not see the custom POI. The data is still there check with pc. what to do.

Ok, here is a novice question, what is that little round circle with a red dot in the middle where you view the satellites? I get the moon and the sun, but dont get what the circle with the red dot is.
