Installing Map Update 2008 NT on Second Computer

Hi,
I would like to install the Map Update 2008 NT on my second computer to see this version in Mapsource. I ran the installation and it asks me to connect my c330 to it via usb. I got as far as the prompt to choose the lower 48 states or Canada and was afraid to go any further.
Has anyone tried this? Does it detect that the update has already been done on my c330 and then proceed to install it to mapsource? Or do I have to re-install it to the c330? Is there any problems (like unlock code issues) in doing this?
Any help would be appreciated,

New Laptop
I just got a new laptop and installed the 2008 NT version of Mapsource on it. It just skipped updating the GPS and installed the program on the laptop. As far as I can tell, You just have to connect the GPS unit to make sure you are authorized to add the program.
