I have been in and out of the GPS world for a few years. Never a technical user until now. I was always a point and shoot kinda guy.

I have an old version of MapSource I bougth in 2002, an etrex legend and a CS330.

The lat\lon on the CS330 and legend do not match mapsource.

Changes made from version 5.50 to 5.70:

I've got a StreetPilot c340. I'm planning to upgrade my map software to the new 2008 version. I bought my unit in March of 2006, so I don't expect to get a free update like many of you have been reporting. However, I don't have the unit registration code that came with my device when I bought it. When I buy the DVD to upgrade the maps, is that unit registration code needed to install the maps?

I'm a new Garmin user and wanted to install some custom POIs... when I use the POI loader to install a new POI file does it overwrite the previously installed POIs?

In other words, if I want to install a new POI do I have to install all the previous POIs again with the new POI?

I upgraded my Nuvi 350 with the 2008 maps. After finishing the installation, a new desktop shortcut was created named MapInstall. I opened the application up and installed the New York area.

I turned my Nuvi on and I don't know where to look for what I installed.

Can someone explain to me what this is suppose to do? Do I need to manually high light every area that I want to install?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have a number of MP3s on my Nuvi (not on SD card) and want to transfer it to my Blackberry.

The Blackberry instructions says it can receive files using bluetooth. I just don't know if the Nuvi 360 can send data using bluetooth.

If I can do this, it will save me from having to run out and buy a microSD card which is used by my blackberry.

I have a c340 and live in Queens, New York, the other day i went to use my GPS and I started to put in the address and when i when to put in the city Briarwood it would let me put up to the "I" and then it would pull up the city and it only listed Briarcliff Manor, NY.
If i had not known that this area is also known as Jamaica I would have never been able to get the address.

Using the web updater, this update is now available from Garmin. Installs to the Nuvi, then to the antenna assy upon connection. Takes 2 minutes to do. I will test it tomorrow. Hope it helps.

I purchased a c340 in late June. It has the NT 2008 map in it
Map info reads:
City Navigator North America NT 2008. I assume this is the newest version from what I have read so far.

Here is my question.

I just got done updating my Nuvi 660 to Map 2007 and I can't find anything new..

There were new homes built behind me and they've people have been living in them for over a year and those roads aren't in the new maps. A state route extension that opened last year still isn't in there.

I'm in a real mess. I downloaded the new version of Mapsource (6.13.01), and installed it with no problem. I have looked over it and really had no reason to doubt the decision, until now...

I'm looking for a a Nuvi 660 power/traffic radio connector (the one that is on the nuvi mount end of the GTM20 traffic receiver) Does anyone know where I can get this connector (other than buying a GTM20 receiver)? Or does anyone have a non-working GTM20 traffic receiver that they would like to sell?

lately i am trying to put different voice languages on my garmin 650
searching on the net i found that 660 is avaliable in Taiwan. and i was able to find a file for mandarin speaking voice file.
someone already converted for North american version.

I completely discharge my unit before I charge it. I let it tell me when the battery is low, and then I plug it in. I give each charging a full overnight charge.

Garmin just identified the new chipset they will be using in place of SiRF in lower cost units.

I find on my Nuvi 360 if I have the volume set just right for my Bluetooth handsfree that the direction voice (Aussie Karen) is not loud enough. Is there any way to set the Bluetooth volume independently of the directional voice volume?

I have had my Nuvi 660 for about two weeks now and it has performed flawlessly. I have no idea why I waited so long to own a gps unit, but now that I have one I can't see myself without one. I look forward to our up and coming vacation to Disneyworld this December. That being said, I have encountered a repeated problem with my Nuvi when on route to work in Arlington Virginia.

GPS Passion Website has a new story stating that Garmin has reinstituted their old update policy. If you bought your GPSr after the new maps were announced you get a free update.
