Nuvi 680 Sent for Warranty Repairs

Had to send my 680 back to Garmin for warranty repairs. Wouldn't connect to the MSN Direct receiver - after trying resets to both the Nuvi and the MSN Direct receiver they sent an exchange MSN receiver/cable. That didn't solve the problem so I had to send the Nuvi in. And, the battery won't hold a charge that lasts for more than 45 minutes. Not sure if Garmin will advise what they found the problem to be, but I'll post if I get an answer.

Same problem

I'm having the similar issues.

For me, it all started when the last firmware update for the MSN Direct came out. I'm hoping the antenna within the cable is the problem so I don't have to send my unit back. However, I'm just at the point where they're sending me a new cable for the GPS.

I will say that Garmin tech support has been really great throughout the troubleshooting process. MSN Direct tech support needs work.

I'm curious - which battery doesn't hold a charge for more than 45 minutes - the Nuvi or the battery in the receiver/cable?

Same Problem

Initially I had to send them the cable for an exchange. When that didn't solve the problem, they asked me to send the Nuvi in.

Nuvi battery doesn't hold a charge.

Nuvi 680 Replaced

Got a "new" Nuvi yesterday - 7 days after sending mine back for repair. Although the diagnosis packaged with the "new" unit said my malfunctioning 680 tested within specs, they went ahead and sent me a new unit anyway. Not sure what that means, but I'm happy with the prompt handling.
