Changes made from version 2.30 to 3.00:

* Decreased the frequency that advertisements are displayed.
* Changed to hide old advertisements that could still be showing when the user left the map page.
* Enhanced the functionality of the ecoRoute application.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not. What program do you suggest use to creat custom icons that are not in the library? I've done it before for my handheld but I'm just starting with my first Nuvi.

I can tell with all the custom POI's this is going to be an addiction.....

I thought I'd throw this out and see if anyone had this problem.

I have a microSD card in with a ton of POIs ( I think I had it up to 118,000 installed on the card with multiple POI files. ). I do not install them onto the Garmin as a preference. Recently I did the web update for the unit so it updated the system software.

Hey guys, need your opinions. I have a Garmin 755T and so far it's been a good unit. The thing is I also have a boat and like to explore area lakes.. lakes I'm unfamiar with. I have heard that you can take a "road" gps and set it up to "leave a trail". If that's true couldn't I just leave a trail on the lake with my 755t and then follow that trail back to where we origonaly launched the boat?

I have a nuvi 650 that did not came with the gtm 20 traffic receiver (0100054413) which I bought seperate.

My question is how do u get the free lifetime traffic gtm 20 with my nuvi 650?

After checking through the threads using the search function, I haven't found anything specifically related to this problem (only the 7xx series).

Out of nowhere, all of a sudden my 6-month old 1490T won't start up. Conditions:

1. Used it tonight about 4 hours ago--everything worked fine.

2. Tried to turn it on using the USB-connected cord to my PC.

I have a garmin Nuvi 760, and I loaded quite a few POI's onto it earlier this year.

One of the files I loaded was for speed warnings to appear on the unit. Now, when I pass a certain part of I-87 in New York, the speed warning "gong" goes off, but the red speed alert listed at the top of the screen says "8MPH", not 55 like I assume it should.

Circuit City online has the Garmin Nuvi 265WT on sale for $159.99 and I am wondering if this a good deal? I also would like to get some feedback on how the lifetime traffic works.

I know I've shortens the life of my Garmin battery by leaving it in the car during Midwestern summers. My judgment was a friend and I bought the same Garmin at the same time mine was in the car over several summers..his wasn't. My battery died about a year ago the unit kept indoors is still going strong.

Which Garmin models have integrated receivers that don't require being plugged into the lighter to function? I know the traffic receivers on most models require the receiver to be plugged in and do not function when disconnected to the adapter.

The new 1690 is the only one I know of that functions independently.

I've downloaded some POI's that I believe will be very helpful but when I check them on my Garmin nuvi 205W, the addresses and or phone numbers do not show up. I've downloaded the csv files and they do show the name of the business and how many miles to that destination but do not show the addresses or phone numbers.

I have an spreadsheet containing numerous locations all with British Nation Grid References (NGR) (eg. TL 89210 28406) locations (rather than long and latitude). I want to convert them into a POI file as quickly as possible.

Does anyone know a quicker way as apposed to converting each NGR to Long and lat manually.

When I'm looking for a location in a csv file is there a faster way than looking at each one in excel?

Hey any body can please tell me how to add a picture with particular place. for example a public library. how can you send picture to garmin. where should i save it?

I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this, or am I just hallucinating it.

After updating to the November 2009 maps on my Nuvi 760, it seems that the screen does not keep up with where I am. The lag between me hitting a landmark in reality and on screen appears to have increased.

Am I dreaming it? Is this an isolated incident, or are there others having the same issue.

New to using POI files, but I loaded the GOOD SAM site file to my computer and then loaded my SD card. When I look at the POI file in Extra I see the good sam file, when I call it up it comes up but instead of APPROX. 1500 SITES I CAN ONLY SCROLL MAYBE 30-40sites instead of the 1500????

Friend at work brought in his new Garmin 1490T nuvi, and I walked him through loading POI's...

I was going to show him where the POI's could be found, but WOW the Nuvi 1490T and my Nuvi 660 do not share any GUI structure!!! And of course he didn't bring his manual....

I guess I'm just not meant to have a functioning 765. Just got my forth unit after 5 returns (one problem, the battery, they fixed without replacing), spent most of the night setting it up & was just now pairing with my iPhone. It pairs just fine, will ring through the unit on an incoming call & it'll dial out but I get no audio through the gps at all.

New to this forum and Garmin. Had a Magellan 4250 before and very recently updated to Garmin 765T. Have been trying to get drive by POIs show up in the navigation map and have no clue.
Anyone know if this can be done?
